I’m pretty sure I said before, but knowing that soundwave still fights for Megatron even though Megatron retired or something. Shows how much soundwave is still loyal to him, but sad that he is fighting alone and not knowing

Honestly I hate that they brought him back, not because I dislike soundwave (he's my favorite actually), but because they ruined him, they stripped him of everything that made him great, compared to how he could fight in prime, he is simply mediocre, they also took away his distinct design to pay homage to his g1 self which kinda ruined the point in his distinct design and was tactically stupid as he lost his ability to fly, but what truly angers me is that they broke his vow of silence for no reason, in his backstory he took this vow when he left the council on cybertron, believing that he should rather prove himself through his actions and not his words, and finally they defeated him in a way that is not fitting for him, it was to easy, honestly I think it would have been a better idea if they allowed soundwave to successfully summon megatron (while making it that his machine would not harm anyone), as this would have left them with so many options, perhaps he decides to remain loyal to megatron and join him, perhaps he regroups with starscream and the other decepticons, perhaps he usurps starscream and becomes leader, or perhaps in an emotional scene he will simply surrenders to the autobots believing that he wasted so many years trying to escape the shadow zone and rejoin megatron, all for nothing.

Essentially, they had to nerf Soundwave, whose trait was that he was so damn good at combat despite being the silent one, he didn’t even need to lift a finger sometimes to fight. And this dude specialised in just conjuring ground bridges EFFORTLESSLY, just for it to be completely forgotten in RID15. He’s simply nerfed for this inferior version of BumbleBee and his team to defeat the dude (that by right, is actually able to fight off an entire team of combat-ready Autobots while incapacitated and also abduct one of their members while at it). If they can nerf Megatronus, The Fallen Prime, who isn’t suppose to be a noob with a breakable staff, they will certainly nerf our beloved Prime Soundwave. Also it clearly showed that they can use Prime models and translate it to the art style in RID15. So why didn’t they do that so that it does tie in with that it’s after the events of Prime. I actually also don’t like that they brought back Optimus, who literally sacrificed himself to reactivate Well of Allsparks. He wasn’t suppose to be back. The dude seems to have been only brought back, so that we can hate Bumblebee for being an angsty teen thinking that Optimus keeps stealing his spotlight.

Sadly, they broke his vow way more often than only this one time - taken into account that the Cybertron Games (including RotDS) are part of the Aligned/Prime continuity, too, ... where he's talking almost as much as in G1 ... - either such a vow of silence means absolutely NOTHING to HASBRO's plot weiters ... or joining Megatron & helping the Decepticons to rise up, ending the fraggin' caste system once and for all times, was "enough" of effective deeds 'n' actions for Soundwave, himself, to regard his vow as fulfilled, already, ... which would mean, he'd be keeping up his "trademark" silence, 99% of the time with exception of his one iconic line during captivity, in TFP, just for ... fun? 🙂 ... being already too used to it and simply fed up with verbal communication, in general?? 🔇 ... enjoying the silence??? (Depeche Mode reference intended 🎼) 🤔🤔🤔

Honestly, to call RID a continuity from TFP is just not ok, the downgrade in everything from characters, art, and the plot was just sad to see. From the masterpiece that was Prime to this was disappointing. When I heard Soundwave was coming back, I was excited and finally watched some of the show but it ruined him as well.

He wasn't a gladiator per se, he was a senator, but he could keep up with Megatron and is amazing in hand to hand combat, so you are completely right in your point

This was uploaded before TFP Soundwave was upgraded to RID Soundwave, which, in my opinion, is uglier. I wish they kept him in his normal, thinner frame, giving him his slender appearance all over again, and letting him be the scary, silent, terrifying, unknown, looking-like-a-lab-experiment-gone-horribly-wrong-but-right Soundwave, instead of making him speak with his voice once more like normal, and ruining his scary stature. I lost my fear of Soundwave after RID, because I could hear his voice more and more, and it no longer disturbed me, and the fact he no longer was his thin, slender self, and that he had a different alt, just ruined RID for me. I respect your opinion if you like his new design, not gonna tell ya off for that.
