I remember before it came out there were flyers in every city and they marketed it as a real footage movie documentary. They had flyers that pictures of the 3 saying they were missing and asking for info. In the movie theater instead of the normal music on the speaker it was nothing but nature noises with mostly insect noises

It's a bit of fresh air having the antagonist of a horror film be somewhat sympathetic and more like a vigilante. The backstory makes you really understand the dude, you kinda feel for him. Of course, that doesn't excuse his actions, but it makes him more of a tragic character than an evil one.

It’s like if you combined Amanda the Adventurer, Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared, and The Ring and turned it into a movie. Amanda the Adventurer with the haunted VHS tapes, Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared with the fucked up puppets, and The Ring with how he comes out of the TV.

Reminds me of erementari on Netflix. Basically, someone enslaved a demon to work a forge or something like this. I guess this depiction represents holy order over the dark half of the world’s dualities in the spiritual war that’s happening in terrifier.

5:17 that's not a mailbox, to be fair. Its a little thing where people can live books for others to take for free, to motivate kids to read n stuff. There are some around where I live, usually near schools or neighborhoods with a lot of children, so it wouldn't be AS odd as it is in the movie. Like, if it showed up out of nowhere it would still be strange, but it honestly might've just been there before (I'm saying this as someone who's not watched the movie yet, so idk if they actually say it just magically showed up)

The think i like about Mr. Crocket is given his actions and motivations we hear from his backstory (thought it should DEFINITELY be taken with a grain of salt since Crocket is very much an unreliable narrator), Mr. Crocket acts more like a VERY fucked up guardian angel rather then just some malevolent entity

Mr Crockett is the manifestation of dissociative behaviors displayed by children in response to anything including parenting, environment, and major familial changes. I personally do not like horror films surrounding children issues. Horror is meant to give a feeling of shock, adrenaline even. However, its also meant to disrupt the audience which forces deep conversations about our ideologies and/or issues that may influence the masses. That is why it's difficult to display that Horror from the perspective of children, which is underdeveloped compared to adults; In other words, try to address the context justly before ripping your way through an alley of "kIdS aRe So AnNoYiNg." A critical analysis I find offensive because adults are way too comfortable with blaming small children for their own adult behaviors that won't allow an adult to take accountability. This is a fictional horror story, with an overtone about child neglect and abuse for a reason. Of course, it is entertaining you as it was designed, but are you truly entertained by its message? That's only my interpretation of the film itself. For all I care, the writer could just want to create a story about unwanted kids losing their parents due to negligence and abuse. With no dialogue on the subject except for its "entertaining" aspects.
@CyraAysu5 күн бұрын
If the parents can't hold themselves accountable, who will? Heaven or Hell? Yet, we can't fathom that fully as adults, but we can! It just goes against the belief that we are grown enough to do whatever. I perceive Mr Crockett as law enforcement/judicial/protective services that claims to help families, but often miss the mark due to a lack of appropriate resources. Resources that have proven successful with issues like family violence/abuse. CPS has both helped and destroyed many families, especially those of minority groups and poverty. Substance, Domestic, and several other forms are all issues that the government has shown its hand in, as well as their own dissociation with these issues. In reality, it is terrifying and sick to see families practically receive a death sentence in their overall relationships, it is normalized. That's why it has its place as a theme in Horror. So, you can hear it, feel it, know the truth, and know why it is disturbing.

@Army_Dog Oh yeah. Lockwood's actor Jeffrey Combs is horror royalty for his HP Lovecraft roles like From Beyond and Reanimator. The old woman is Dee Wallace, the mom from Cujo and a dozen other horror roles. The mom is Danielle Harris, the little girl from Halloween 4/5 and dozens of other things including Urban Legend and Zombie's Halloween films. The young boy was in Terrifier 2. The cop was in the 90s IT. The old man in the post credit scene is Bill Mosely, who is royalty n horror as well for Rob Zombie's films, Chop Top in TCM2, and 100 other horror roles. The arcade asshole is played by Doofey from Scary Movie. The old man who the game master kills for asking questions starred in Leprachan 1 and Gacy I'm not sure who he plays but the Baghead from The Strangers is in this too. The drunks wife is Angela from Sleepaway Camp. The drunk has been in hundreds of shows and movies including Rob zombies films and Terrifier 2 and 3. The maintainance guy is Miko Hughes, the kid from New Nightmare and Pet Sematary. And that masked, chairbound cameo after the credits is Tim Curry.
