Shame that these new printers are suffering from horrible banding issues. Especially the 1100. Bought one 3 weeks ago, about half of the prints are unusable. Look around the web. Well documented. I'd advice everyone to avoid these new printers for a while until canon properly acknowledges it and announces a fix

“Modularity” signifies components which can be separated and combined. This is a software lockout. You’re buying the same “decked out” printer, you’re just being blocked from using all the features. Imagine buying a car and the manufacturer putting a right turn restriction or a speed limiter… unless you pay later on simply to remove the software lock. No additional resources for canon here, just a shady business practice. If you are going to advertise something as modular, it should be modular.

I get that silly error that says "no paper in the printer" when THERE IS paper in the printer. It is not caused by the type of paper I am using because I am using what you recommended, and that previously always worked. Tried re booting the printer- NG ! This is technology ?

I'm getting the TM-350 printer over the Pro4600 for couple reasons 1- The TM-350 is 36 inches which is perfect for my projects, I don't want the 24 inches because is too small, and the 44 inches is too big (and heavy) 2- The TM-350 uses 5 inks only, much easier for profiling to create banner and photo production instead that 12 ink system from the PRO system

Help I have the canon pro 6000 and since 2 Hours he does not stop cleaning . I tried to print a photo when he started the cleaning process . The white light is blinking . And the progress bar is by about 80 % , but since two hours no progress . And the printer tell me not to open the cover . Now I read that it could harm the printer if I switch him off . Any advice ? Would be great

you the engineers should set some vacuum on the heater to keep the print flat. that will be the solution, it happens a lot on my 365

How do you feel this printer, particularly the 24" version compares to Canons imagePROGRAF PRO-2600 series printer? I'm looking for something to do professional prints for our corporate clients and I want something that has top tier quality prints for photographs. Also, are either of these printers capable of printing 4x6 and 5x7 etc... cut sheets or do you have to handle this through a cutting process?

HI , I`m sick of epson XP-900 settings for the sizes for the paper and borders which comes by default and bordless box only available from A4 and above, there is no way to print full paper on A5 , the trick which works for me is putting two pics on size of A4 , print and then cut a half . But I have full box of Ilford A5 and bloody border come out so I can`t fit it into mount , it leaves white stripes and looks like shit

Now for the bad news. Files can only be JPG or Tif and At 16 rgb color. I’ve made it work at rgb 24 color in both formats. But this is kinda sad that there using only these formats. Here you have this amazing machine and the gateway to it is using formats that are over 20 years old. Some programs don’t even use those 8 - 16 rgb color profiles any longer. Other than that it’s a great machine just wish the software wasn’t so limited

I am very new to all this. I like to produce some Limited Edition Prints of my Oil Paintings on Quality Thick Textured 140 lb Watercolor papers. Would this printer do that?

This could defiantly do that, this particular model only prints up to A1 in size (which is still pretty big) I would go for the 4600 if you want to go larger. These printers are made for continuous work and you can run into trouble if you leave them dormant for longer periods of time (To ensure the print head nozzles are clear the printer will run a cleaning cycle, meaning It will force a fair amount of ink through the print head to avoid clogging and this is dumped into the maintenance tank This is rather expensive as the cost of these pigment ink cartridges is not cheap. If you just want to run an edition from your work I would suggest maybe working with a print lab that can capture a quality image of your work and offer you a selection of fine art papers. These printers require specially coated paper with ICC profiles in order to get an accurate print out. Hahnemühle Torchon is a paper that would most likely suit your needs.
