Plywood frames are junk any way you build it

I’m confused I thought the whole purpose of the bunkie board was to create a solid base on top of a slat foundation, but itself has slats? That doesn’t make sense to me.
@furniturefair
@furniturefair 2 күн бұрын
The slats on a bed frame serve as the primary support structure for the mattress. Even with a bunkie board, the slats are necessary because they distribute the weight of the mattress and sleeper evenly across the frame, helping to maintain the integrity of both the bed frame and the mattress. Here’s why the slats are still important: Weight Distribution: The slats help evenly distribute the weight across the bed frame, preventing any single part of the frame from bearing too much load. This helps avoid damage to the frame and ensures the bed remains stable. Support: The slats provide additional support to the bunkie board, preventing it from bending or sagging. Without slats, the bunkie board would have to bear all the weight on its own, which could lead to reduced support and potential damage to both the board and the mattress.

Yeah I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. All the Bunkie boards I have looked at do NOT have slats. Don’t buy one with slats if you are trying to make a solid base for your specific mattress.

It's typically not recommended, but as long as there is enough support to hold up the bunkie board, it can work.

Wha5 is shearling?
@furniturefair
@furniturefair 17 күн бұрын
Hello, Rebecca! Shearling is the tanned skin of a sheep or lamb where the wool remains attached to the hide. As Wikipedia explains, it's a sheepskin or lambskin pelt that has gone through a limited shearing process to create a consistent depth of wool fibers, giving it that uniform appearance and feel. Contrary to what some may believe, shearling isn't simply shorn wool - it's the pelt of a yearling sheep shorn just once through the specified process. Shearling garments are crafted from pelts with the uniform-depth wool intact. You can learn more on this site here: shearlingleather.com/blogs/news/what-is-shearling-and-why-shearling-jackets-are-expensive?srsltid=AfmBOorNGu-S4guf39T2zPvoyDXhFZDy4LwdxpIWoNwx9WBTqUKbsNwU

Hello, I grew up in western New York. During the worlds fair in the early sixties in NYC furniture made by Kittinger, Jamestown Royal and Jamestown Lounge was featured as the best in America. Have these brands gone under or I they just not noticed by you. There is also Hickory Chair from the Carolina's and of course Henredon and Baker. What on earth is your criteria for judging the "best". I am quite familiar with furniture manufacture and quality of build is my number one priority, not how many finishes or fabrics a piece comes in. Your choices show a clear generational division in what is important in this current culture.

What is the best cushion type for heavy set people roughly 240lbs that's not going to compress so much within the first 6 months to year and feel as if nothing is there? For couches that would normally require a 5" cushion.
@furniturefair
@furniturefair Ай бұрын
Hello, Pete! thank you for your question. That is a tough question to answer, but typically the higher the density, the firmer the core. So it will last longer, however sometimes you are sacrificing comfort for longevity. Also, some manufacturers have seat cores with coil springs in them which also provides a firmer seat that may last longer. I hope this helps in your research. Just make sure you quiz the retailer on why something would be up to the standards you require.

Do not buy the C-Class pillow top. Just had an inspector come out and verify the deep dents where your hips rest on the mattress. The pillow top also shifted after only a few months.
