iirc it was used for rice farming because you could put your finger through and to have it in hand while pulling rice

literally takes 5 minuites to Google that it originated as a farming tool in southeast Asia because it's design allowed you to use your hands while having a blade at easy access.

Idk how you came out with the poison thingy purpose and definitely not a one done gone weapon 😂. It is on internet For reference just search "karambit silat national geographic"

@@nicolbolas5934a farming tool that humans developed from….animal bones….what fossils and bone remnants do you guys think were around thousands of years ago??? maybe dinosaur and horned animal remnants? tusks and claws and certain bones would have been perfect for this shape blade
@nicolbolas59342 ай бұрын
@@ghostoftheland it wasn't made using bone. it was made using poorly refined metals. their isn't significant enough fossil deposits in the Philippines to attribute the shape to those and they don't exactly have large enough Predators with claw shapes there to have modeled it after.

"Superficially, the karambit resembles the jambiyah, although there is no connection. The jambiyah was always designed as a weapon and serves as a status marker, often made by skilled artisans and jewelers using precious stones and metals, whereas the karambit was and still remains an unadorned farmer's implement and utility knife."

100% CORRECT! So many McKarate classes are all about punches, kicks, throws, and locks, and how fast you can belt rank, but psychology and original philosophy of the art will ALWAYS promote peaceful resolution as one of your MAJOR tools.

that’s what i’m saying!!! real martial artists know that even surviving a fight, there are no winners
@TNBadBoy2 ай бұрын
@@ghostoftheland The other side of this is knowing the difference in an ART and a FIGHTING STYLE. Old School Karate is about the discipline of learning precision movement and body placement. You can apply that art to fighting, but it (like ballroom dancing) was about the pursuit of perfect form through focus and discipline. The ARTS incorporated philosophy as well as physicality. So much of that "Old School" Dojo life has been lost in the world of Bullshido and McKarate, and I think that it is SORELY needed again. Keep preaching and teaching my man! Cancel Reply
