Obi Wan Kenobi is narrating what the London Olympics will be about

@6:21 why did NBC stop beginning their Olympic broadcasts like this?
@lorddalek18 күн бұрын
This was the last time we had to wait four years (hell actually longer than that because Sydney was held in September!) to hear Buglar's Dream at the start of the Olympics telecasts on NBC.

Talking about the 2004 Athens Games marathon...the men's event was the most unfair of all time, as Brazilian Vanderlei Cordeiro de Lima, who was leading the race, was grabbed by a crazy spectator, and then, he wasted lots of time, and instead of the Gold medal, he finished in 3rd place...most outrageous marathon race in the Olympic Games.
@maxhayashi4078Ай бұрын
Olympic Games are exciting, but there are many events that I consider unfair, because some athletes take much more advantage than others, just because they are much taller than his(her) opponents.

After watching the NBC Tokyo opening intro, why the hell did NBC go away from this type of opening? I really miss the traditional Bugler’s Dream with the gorgeous aerial shots of the host city/country. This opening oozes class, but now it’s just watered down crap.

I know. I bet bet they could’ve said a lot of great things about Japan, they could’ve highlighted the star athletes entering these games in this same poetic style, or the pandemic and stuff like how resilient we were to get to were we are. I’ve always loved the way NBC covers the Olympics but this year they made it look messy.

NBC had just joined with Universal to become NBCUniversal, so naturally, with John Williams as composer, and Universal now with NBC, They chose this as the first part. Plus, you couple the music with James Earl Jones as narrator, and you have this masterpiece. I sure miss those days.
