Paula, I hope you don't mind me plugging your new album. I was blown away by it and wanted to sing it's praises. Just listened to this CD for the first time this morning and my first impression is Wow!! Highlights for me: The album opens with the absolutely stunning Follow The Moon. I'd have to say this song is Paula at her absolute best- and that's saying a lot. It has all the earmarks of a classic Paula Cole song: the opening keyboards, her unique phrasing, personal lyrics. All of that would be enough but honestly, the vocals on this song are pure magic: sweet and soaring and angelic. Absolutely exquisite, this song enough is worth the price for the whole recording. Take It Take It Take It is pure sassy, sexy Paula; short and sweet. Calling All Saviors is exactly what I would expect from Paula Cole in these troubled times: a plea for relief. Golden Apples Of The Sun/Fahrenheit 451 begins with a gorgeous poem by Yeates and proceeds with a beautiful and haunting warning about the erasure of our histories and the swing towards intolerance. Letter From A Quarry Miner reveals Paula's expertise in pairing her excellent storytelling with the simplicity of Americana. I can see the hills of Appalachia, see the struggle, see the strength. Knee-slapping perfection. Wildflower: so raw and passionate and triumphant. Experience it for yourself! Flying Home closes out this masterpiece. It's light and hopeful and a perfect way to take you home. Thank you, Paula, for everything.
