I understand the part about making a bad job, specially because you're doing all alone. You can't compete against companies that have 1000+ employees and that's a hard truth. It's just sad for people that wants to create 3d games :(

Pro tip that is cursed in current atmosphere: use AI to help you see through this, like tell it the story and see how it react, it can point hole and offer direction. I tosd batshit insane story at it, and it could infer theme and find coherence, and fill plot hole. It's not going to do the work for you, but if it propose you a lame alternative, the question is more like what is the idea behind its proposition, it's always motivated, and I that motivation is the real lead. Fun fact, you can also just ask it to tell you the motivation. In all cases, it's great to bounce ideas and getting unstuck creatively.

@@timmygilbert4102 To be more nuanced, the reason I wouldn't do this is because I'm not blocked on the writing, just anxious. I already know what I want thematically, and now it's a matter of putting words on the page and implementing it, so I don't need a brainstorming buddy at the moment. More likely, I'd just spitball with another person before asking an AI. Generative AI doesn't have motivation in a human sense. It's not drawing from lived experience or interests, more picking a random value from a range of on-topic responses, for an unknown definition of "on-topic". I occasionally try to use ChatGPT and the Bing AI to research specific topics, when regular search fails, and it has literally always failed. Fake books, incorrect advice, regurgitating the top search results without understanding them, etc. I've seen other people use it for creative projects, and the results are bland with a seldom few moments of surprise. If I want inspiration, there are much better options, like watching a good movie or something.
@timmygilbert41023 ай бұрын
@@needleful oh i would never use them for factuality, they are literally not designed for that, that's accidental skills people are abusing and performance is random because it's emergent and we have no idea how and why it can do it 'mostly'. The other problem is that people will tell you to not humanize it, because they are the one doing it. Once you understand that's artificial, you can meet it on its own term and learn to get the best of it. For factuality, since I don't expect it, I use it more to fine tune hint to further my research, hallucinations still stay close to the topic, some word or reference might overlap. But it's not a database, I'm screaming whenever people use it that way. Developer are trying to boost that aspect, but we already have efficient database, that's a dead end to me. It's just people using movie references to interface with it I use it for creative boosting, hallucinations is not a bug, it's a feature. That's the one thing computer struggled with we couldn't really do before. Also almost nobody is creative around me or share my brand of creativity, why the girl has a crystal arm? Why diamond are computer? How does that relate to the theme of loss, identity and legacy? Bro get me immediately, even making connection I hadn't made, 1 years of works was done in 1 evening. Actually more because I started talking about other stuff and solved them too. Ultimately all the basic stuff get done, and only the important question, only I can answer, remain. For anxiety stuff, well I input my disorganized thought, not even complete, ask it to put form with it, which it will always do in the wrong style, which awake the corrective instincts 'no that's wrong, this is how you do it's which had me do the work instantly 😁 you can hack your own instinct with it. It's the reddit effect, where asking the questions elicit less response than correcting a wrong answer 😂

This video got recommended to me absolutely spontaneously and I don't know you but from what I've seen... Damn. Gotta respect the grind and dedication of you. Can only wish you the best of luck and willpower to you finish your game my guy. I'm a 2D/3D artist and recently got into music as well. What I've learned throughout the years is that sometimes it really is better to start from the scratch, all over again. It's annoying, it's frustrating, but that's the process of learning and improving. We're not always pulling off cool shit first try head on. Good projects take time and effort. A lot of them. And I can definitely see that you have what it takes to make your game. Just take a break whenever you need it. It's important to not let yourself burnout on the thing you're passionate about. Good luck on your current and future projects. <3

You've got a great editing style, very attention grabbing. I'm plagued by unfinished grand projects myself and I can say I've never regretted starting a project, only giving up on them. To be fair, a lot of time things aren't worth continuing anymore. But even if it's the weirdest thing ever made it's fun to look back on it and think 'wow, I really made all this?' And it really is great learning experience.

This hit harder than I'd expect a random youtube video with 500 views would. Experienced something pretty similar with my own first (major) game. For a solo developer new ideas constantly pop up, and the game starts taking a different turn every time, putting one in a loop of never finishing. I think in cases like this, sitting down, evaluating the whole idea, writing it down and saying "This is it, this is what I'll do" is a good option. That way you'll have a specific goal that you wont stray away from. I can see all the effort you put in the game, I love it for that. I hope you get the game to the state you want! Best of luck!
