HD etching and CNC are the same right?

Not quite. HD etching is done by using acid on the metal and CNC is a mechanical engraving procedure.

Yeah, they're out there, but you gotta pay for them. Some even get their plates etched in China for those belts.

HD Acid was By Ali Anas at Altair Belts. I haven't gotten a belt in about a year now. The buying experience isn't worth the product anymore.

Letters don't pop because this isn't hd etching.....what you have there is a belt made by a cnc machine. You can see the machine stepper maks that were not polished out

Yeah, this was like 3 years ago now. Pakistan was just starting to produce CNC belts. I think I paid like $675 for this and you can get them done way cheaper/better now.

As far as thickness of the hides it depends on the plates replicas are usually thinner with shorter posts. A lot of over seas makes have thicker plates and longer studs there for having thicker hide to make up the gap difference between the back of the plate and the screws. Mendoza Craft is a leather guy on face book I’ve been working with and he will tell u the same thing.

I want to learn how to make leather straps for my wrestling belts. It seems like an enjoyable hobby I would love to get into. Finding the tools isn't too much of an issue (I don't think), but knowing which leather to buy is something I still have many questions about. Most would say VegTan but I still don't know which oz. to buy and which part (shoulder, side, back, double shoulder, etc...). I'm not that big on straps that are too floppy, but obviously I don't want it as stiff as a WWE Shop polyurethane strap. What's a typical good quality leather strap to buy? Also, I live in the U.S. if that makes a difference on the leather.

The maker I currently deal with does cnc championship belts. The only time he's ask for a high price on a cnc belt, was based on how the thickness of the zinc, how many layers were stacked on each plate, and whether you plates are all gold, or dual plated.

This never came out because WWE doesn't own the NWA. Seashell tooling, the original had flower tooling. The original also had no logo plate as the original belt was made in 1985 and logo plates starred appearing in 1988. Also, on the original, the snapboxes were black.

This is why I don’t like ordering bootlegs. Mateen at ELT is considered probably 2nd in bootleg makers after Classic Shields, and his work is average at best in my opinion.

I like this belt design, reminds me of the big gold, just in smaller form. What I don't like about it is the fact they call it WORLD television champion. It should be simply television heavyweight wrestling champion like the arn anderson (mcmillan) made belt spelled out. Wcw just let the maker of this design be super lazy with naming it right, or wcw was to cheap to pay for them to spell it out totally.

One problem with the Pakistani bootleggers is getting them to pay attention I ordered the third WWWF belt from a Pakistani. This is the belt that Bruno dropped to Ivan Koloff and is the belt Bruno kept till he died. I sent a pic of the original belt showing that if facing the belt, the buckle should be on the right. What I got, the buckle's on the left. The sideplates, one says "Bruno Sammartino World Wide Wrestling Federation Champion". The other says "Defeated Buddy Rogers May 17. 1963 Madison Squsre Garden". Mine has both sideplates having the same text.
