The Prequels made more goddamned sense, but that's probably because they were prequels, not that it made them immune.

Man I'm so glad I found out who this dude is cause even though I love star wars though I dont know a ton of the in depth lore he makes me want to look into not just the world George created but all the things he did and created! I had no idea that he did that stuff, so cool!

Thoroughly disappointed with the episode. A Sith temporarily defeated with the equivalent of a “Kick Me” sign was disgusting. As great as the battle was, there were so, so many aspects (most of which you all covered) that just ruined it for me.

Right... Qui Gon is the father Anakin needs, but he's gone too early. Then Obiwan who's more like a big brother steps in and he's not ready to raise him. I've never thought of that. I'd really love to see how Anakin would have been like if he would have been raise by Qui Gon instead of Obiwan. But I know we can't get to know that.

I want Sam to take over LucasFilm and the Star Wars Franchise after The Acolyte DISASTER!!!!!

George rightly gets credit for being the guy at the center of Star Wars, but I think many fanboys ignore the impact others had creatively on the original trilogy. ILM with their unmatched practical models and groundbreaking special effects, Ben Burtt with his iconic sound design, and John Williams' original score are just a few examples. Lucas wasn't micromanaging these people. He was giving them a vision and they were bringing it into reality. It was a collaboration with a great number of creative and talented professionals, not minions carrying out George's very specific instructions. The best example of this is the script for A New Hope. There were at least five major revisions. Lucas gave the fourth revision to Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz (American Graffiti) who completely re-wrote the dialog. Only about 30% of that survived George's own further revisions, but the point is there were several complete re-writes to Lucas' original vision, and these changes were being made by others as much as Lucas himself. Lucas recognized his own weaknesses in those days and solicited the help of others. I think the reason why the prequels are so different from the original trilogy is that we are seeing something much closer to George's raw creative vision without the same level of refinement and polish as before. I think people working on the project were too intimidated to challenge the ideas of a Hollywood legend. I think George's hubris from so much success perhaps lead him to think he didn't need much help. On top of that, I think George didn't have the time or patience to lead this project with the same passion and dedication as before. And of course, he was unwilling to hand it over to anyone else.

Marcia Lucas is why Star Wars was so good. The absence of George is why Empire is the best. The rest… Boba Fett screaming, going out like a bitch, Ewoks, Jar-Jar, Midi-fucking-chlorians.

Sam not having job behind the scenes is criminal. Let him write/direct a movie or series. He would absolutely crush it.

Every fan of Star Wars would benefit from watching this video. Sam is spot on in his description of George Lucas, an independent filmmaker, Star Wars and Hollywood’s intimidating and resistance to Lucas’s success.

Only to then sell it off to the greatest story-verse killers ever... Star Wars ended when Lucas gave in to that trifling C, Kennedy. Original Star Wars was a dream replaced by a nightmare. Ultimately, it doesn't matter what Lucas did in the beginning...What mattered was his betrayal in the end.

The prequels still suck.
