Hilarious how up their own backsides some of the bands are on here, like they've never been out of the northwest. Yes, we produced some notable bands in Manchester in the 1980s for sure. But only New Order were of any size, and we've not produced much before and nothing since (although I think Posh Spice lived in Wilmslow for a while - but she's from Essex). Not only are we NOT the second city of the UK by any measure though, but the Midlands has produced many more bigger and more notable bands - Black Sabbath, Slade, Duran Duran and Led Zeppelin to name just a few. Its just that the Midlanders don't shout about it like us gobby lot do.
