Did you take the right hand lane past the church car park down to the farm? I was tempted and checked with trailwise but decided against it.

Can these lanes be driven along with a RRS , or are they to narrow
@nigelsim182 жыл бұрын
Hi John, RRS have driven the lanes around the Lake District over the years, in fact there are some videos on YT of them. The thing to consider is that the RRS is one of the wider vehicles to drive the lanes, so you might pick up a bit of pin striping on lanes that are overgrown, and some gates can be tight. Finally, the Gatescarth permit lane is limited to 100" wheelbase vehicles, so the RRS wouldn't be able to drive that one. Hope this helps!

What's mpg like on a motorway?
@nigelsim182 жыл бұрын
Great question, believe it or not it's unchanged (36-44mpg) because the new bigger turbo only kicks in from around 3200rpm, so in 7th cruising you don't use it until you drop a gear and increase the revs. It's a fantastic all round package. 0-60 is also now down to 4.19, see updated video kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaqwm2ikrMiHj6M

I wonder how accurate the in car angle of dangle meter is - maximum on the run inside Andrew’s car was 25degrees but from the outside it looked a lot more …………. Great lane - how often did the cars bottom out?
@nigelsim182 жыл бұрын
I don't remember them bottoming out at all on that lane Tim. I did notice that there was a slight difference in angle readings at one point between Andy's and mine in the video, but I put that down to taking a slightly different line. As for accuracy, it's better than I have in the TD5 which is none! 😂

Nigel, looks like you and Andy are finding some nice winter time drives out in Northumberland - years ago I went with the guys off the D3 and RRS forums for a long weekend laning in the Weardale area, you might find some nice lanes over there too.

Just been catching up on some of your newest videos , some great trails there. You have some of the best videos on KZbin for greenlaning. No drama ,no flying through puddles and mud , just nice and steady and no damage done. I really have to visit sometime and do some Cumbrian lanes.

Not possible in a 110?
@nigelsim182 жыл бұрын
It would be tight in an old 110 because of the turn in. Width through the gate would be fine, it's getting the angle to swing in to the gate that would be the challenge.
