I love my 3 ton Daytona. Definitely works awesome and those stands with the safety on are awesome to. Those pins should be in all of the jack stands

Both of those products will fail .They will flake and peel they are just spray paints. If you want long term durability get Polycryl from Viper Products. it will last much longer its what professional plasitci restoration techs use.

Howdy! I’m redoing the truck currently and have more parts to cover. I plan on making a follow up video with the suggestions in the comments. If you’re interested in sponsoring a video I would be more than happy to give viper products a try!

Car manufactures paint more plastic than you would think . They don’t have to change plastic pellets in the mold process if it’s all grey and painted to the final color needed

Id get some helper springs to further dial in your ride height, as well as your bump/droop ratio. But nevertheless, this is the correct way.

Good video. I’m currently doing a FoxBody with the DupliColor and it’s looking great. The project before this one was a ‘72 240z and the DupliColor burgundy was a direct match and made the diamond patterned interior look brand new. For the FoxBody: Most of the panels and door cards are plastic and easy to work with. I found that the rear cargo/trunk area had lots of deep scratches and scuffs. I used 200grt and got a lot of the surface scratches out but the deep scratches remain. I also learned that since the panels are textured, sanding them too much can create a problem with the finish. That’s why I came to your video in the hopes that maybe there was some light to be shed on this subject of scuff removal with success. I’m struggling a bit with the paint because it seems to bring out the sanding marks regardless of grit. I really don’t want to sand 100% of the panel surfaces to relieve the splotchy issues so I’m a bit stuck at the moment for the panels that had scratches. A couple of things I recommend should you do this again: Hang your parts before you spray them…I learned that spraying on objects that are flat forces you to angle the can downward which can cause spitting and inconsistent spray patterns which can contaminate the coat. As other commenters here mentioned: Avoid Acetone! Acetone melts plastic! I avoided that by simply washing the parts using dish soap and water, wiped parts with denatured alcohol then applied tack cloth right before the spray. Results are amazing except for the areas where I sanded the scratches. My plan is to hit those areas with 400 and feather them in to the non scratched surfaces, wipe down with soap/alcohol/tack then respray. For your door panels: Was it possible to remove the inserts from the back of the panel instead of masking them? Time saver. Sometimes those insets are riveted in so I get it. Was just curious. Thanks again for the content. PS your star studded headliner looked great! Do a video about that install! I’m all in!
@WhoCares2509Ай бұрын
What a pathetic "kick test". LMAO I bet the second there's any real world use (ie.- a 2x4 scuffing the panel during loading/transport), that sh!t will flake right off. Too bad most of us will never know. To your credit, you were very straightforward about warning us about the shortcomings of a spray paint in this application. I wonder what would happen if you used truck bed liner.
@ethanwingsitАй бұрын
Brother if you’re ridding home with a 2x4 in the front seat I feel like the next video I need to make is how to load a truck haha headliner would be crazy thick on your door panel
@WhoCares2509Ай бұрын
@@ethanwingsit Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), I drive a Toyota Corolla, so yeah, 2x4s typically would be 8', which end up touching my dash or passenger door if I cram them in the trunk with the seat down and close the trunk. You still kick like an 8 year old girl. lmao jk ;)
