I love the pedal board; it sounds almost like a bassoon or crumhorn.

He never uses his heels.

That’s how this style of pedalboard is played. You hardly ever use your heels on a German pedalboard.

Look! I can play this marvelous piece extremely well on the harpsichord and I can dance at the same time!

Took me a fair way into the video to figure out that this is actually a claviorgan. I didn't know any playable replicas had been made.

The pedal keyboard seems to be digital, which is just about right with the harpsichord imitation, but not at all with registers that sound like organ bombards.

Ciao Marco!

This is probably the best version I’ve personally heard. Tasteful ornamentation, and above all, not ridiculously fast!

I so much prefer the bright, chiffy sound of these old Renaissance-era instruments over the more orchestral-themed Victorian and modern ones.

Many years ago, I had occasion to see a Kilgen (or maybe Kimbal) small home/chapel/chamber instrument. It had 4 or 5 unified ranks playing on 2 manuals and Pedal. The bottom octave of the 16' Bourdon was a 16' Vox Humana placed inside a box lined with felt to deaden the upper harmonics and "rattle" of a short length reed Allowing more the fundamental to come through. It was quite effective in a small instrument.
