Nice vids. I grew up in Hampshire, IL on the Milw RR mainline to Omaha. Used to see a lot of trains back in the late 60s.

The video is fantastic. Brings back a lot of memories. I’m curious about the handle pop rox….. are you referring to the candy as a kid that you would rip open the top almost like a lemonade package but you had poured into your mouth and it was bits of rocks and then they would start fizzing and everything in your mouth, I’m curious if that’s what your handle is about pop rocks? Again fantastic video !

I loved this show. The writers also did the earthworm Jim cartoon as well. If you've ever watched both, they are incredibly similar.

At 13:10 is the Milwaukee County War Memorial. You list as unknown depot. So, this must be the C&NW Milwaukee passenger station on the downtown lakefront. Thanks.

Why does the video cut out halfway through every time the power is going by? It's irritating as hell. That's like what a guy clicks on the video to watch. I get people back then didn't record the entire train but dam, at least get the units. Cool video otherwise.

You can see in the video how badly wrecked the frame of SN 1005 is from a WP crew banging it up while switching in 1962. This recording might've been one of the few times it was under its own power since that incident.

The Pennsylvania R.R. was the only railroad in America that I know of that had its own fleet of subway trains. These were used from Newark, N.J. across the Hudson River to the terminal where the World Trade Center was. It passed also thru Harrison N.J. to Jersey City, N.J. before reaching Hudson Terminal before the World Trade Center was built. 😊
