People these days see some companies doing offers ect but many are just crap remaps better off paying for a custom dyno remap from a reputable company that know there stuff as I've learnt from experience brought a audi a3 2.0tdi had it remapped by a guy with a laptop no dyno or paperwork yes the car was quicker but soon after had problems with clutch

I used to be a cabby, had a d5 V70 diesel, did 5 trips to the airport on Xmas eve, dpf blocked up, put the car into limp mode, couldn't drive it. I was stuck for 5 hours on the side of the road whilest I waited for recovery. Went to volvo, told them the issue, they didn't listen and took 1 week of investigation before coming to the conclusion I was right. After I got it back I got it gutted and remapped. I have a 330d bmw now, downpipe decatted, egr delete, doesn't suffer from any issues regarding this vid. Not sure why the Uk is bothering with emissions when you have yanks still driving around in v8s and v10s. 😅

lol Know this is far old video So just a video flogging a box which you sell which is doing same as RaceChip boxes do which carry full dyno checked and tested maps which are proper programming put into unit. They simply are doing what regular “mode settings” that manufacturers have often now have as standard. Please prove actual figures and dyno testing of your box that would be a good video not just slap the other company’s. Sorry to burst your bubble but engines and looms shared within manufacturers group cars so often generic shared plugs.

Dpf is like throwing money in the drain ive cleaned mine twice then change egr cooler and still having same fault code so annoying

right paid 15k on a van a month ago, light came up engine one for dpf 48k on the clock, the add blue came up added that to it from my garage now got 148 miles left till non start, wot a joke wish i had not bought it now ffs, doing a camper conversion on it so if i was say spain or italy and that comes up id would be fucked, got china and the 400 coal fired power stations electric cars on fire 😂😂

My issue with the DPF in modern diesel cars is that you never know when a regeneration cycle is in progress, because if we did more people would probably try to complete the cycle. In my W205 C250D I know more or less when regeneration happens because the Auto Start/Stop system is not available during this time. I just had to do the Ad-blue delete because of the limited range warning even though I added 10 liters in the tank. Had it reset and it lasted two days before the limited range warning came up again. The delete cost me 150 quid. Rather pay that than having to fork out thousands to repair the Ad-blue system. Already had a blocked DPF which I had cleaned and sensors replaced. They tested my DPF and it is fine for now, but should it clog again, it's coming out too. Problem with modern manufacturers especially the German kind, is that they don't want people to keep their cars longer than 5 years and x amount of miles. They build these vehicles to be scrapped and recycled in an ideal world. I bought mine at 6 years old with 48k miles. I couldn't afford it new, and intend to drive it for many more miles, but that's not how the manufacturers think. They want a continuous cycle of cars being recycled every 5 years. That's the ideal, but most people can't afford that. That's why they have planned obsolescence built into everything, and we end up with all the long-term reliability issues, and the dealers make the repairs as expensive as possible, so that it basically turns people off from driving their cars for so long. It's just a theory I have, which may or may not be true.

This is stupid in my opinion I have 3 cars the run around has a tuning box it may only improve performance slightly but I'm not gonna spend loads on a proper map on something that's never gonna be fast any way, it's enough to improve keeping up with traffic ect, my jdm sti and punto gt turbo how ever have dyno time ect as being the cars they are makes sense to doit properly. But also your true tune won't be as good as a proper ecu map with dyno time, but for the run around Ide buy one, be interested to see a before and after installation gains on a dyno, see if that makes the claimed power figures.

If I purchase the trasdata master with all the protocols. will I still need to buy credits or tokens? Or willl I be good to to go until I want upgrades after the first year?

Good explanation of tuning boxes,I'm going in for a remap next week (aginst the advice of the tuner who's doing it😂) it's a high mileage 2005 Volvo s60 diesel 163bhp, he said if it cant be tuned without putting a communication wire on the PCB he wont do it because of the age of the ECU,there is a only one tuning box he'll use but it's more expensive than a remap.

You talk about the torque limiter "issue" like it's a negative in a tuning box. Why do you think that torque limiter is there? It's to protect the components! If you're going to remap the ECU and overwrite the torque limiter then you're going to cause damage to the engine, clutch and gearbox.

Check out Bluespark Automotive. Their solution seems like it is the real deal! I have struggled to find negative comments, and have found countless dynos proving their results. Are you able to ECU Remap the new gen Ford V6 or the Amarok 2023V6 ? (Same ECU). Apparently the encryption on these ECU’s is impenetrable? I have been looking all over for an ECU remap on these vehicles and cannot find one which has been done.

I would guess it has zero extra hp. It's already highly tuned. No one is going to tune an N/a better than aston martin. They leave nothing on the table

my 2020 peugeot expert 2.0l bluehdi with 180000miles of which 90% was motorway miles developed adblue, DPF, EGR fault at 120000miles, back and fourth to dealer, try this, try that, £1500 in diagnostics, no fix. refused a new adblue and PAT fluid reservoirs, refused new DPF, refused new dnox sesors, and EGR... had all of that junk deleted, had ECU remap and the van runs better than new... btw, Im the first and only owner, engine oil and filter was changed every 10k, air filter as soon as it got dirty and fuel filter every 30k... engine purrs like its new.

Question is, on cars from 2000 to 2010, how do you know if it can be done through the obd port? My research says they are mostly bench.
