handling the tire with a pair of Mechanic Wear gloves is also helpful; has plenty of grip and saves the top skin layer from blistering

Anyone know of a tool to just place the rim and hub centered and then measure the length using a string pot for perfect measurement in 5 minutes or less rather than measuring and calculating making for errors in both calculation and measurement.

Finally, someone with the key to seating the tire and sealant - no soapy water, no strap around the tire, no using rim tape, etc - all were a waste of time. The trick was to remove the presta value core, use a compressor and BAM - 2 seconds and seated!!! I watch numerous how to videos and no one said about removing the core - if you have a compressor, remove core, pump up and BAM - remove finger and install core. Thanks Matt - awesome and simple (and extremely helpful)!!

@2:02 you should have shown how to remove the internal bearing. If it is flush with the internal hub, then the bearing drift you used will not work. For me, if I replace bearings, I replace them all regardless as I am already in there.

Onyx! I come from a time and country (1980's East Germany) where NOT ANY hub made any sound and a wheel was spinning for 5 minutes. I'm absolutely not understanding why loud and more friction is in any way "better" on a bicycle. I simply don't get it! 😵💫

Thumbs down. Anyone can show how to seat a tubeless tire that's already been seated and then reair up once you start out with something new like a lot of new people struggle with and getting the bead even to set with air compressor there's a thousand videos like this one nothing special Make it difficult for people who struggle.

Question - How do you determine the key spoke on a straight pull hub?
@humancomputerinteraction82379 ай бұрын
Why would you pump air in and then just let it out?
@Puppybreth2425 ай бұрын
If you try to push sealant into an inflated tire, the air will just leak and blow the sealant out. You need to inflate the tire dry in order to set the bead, otherwise sealant would go everywhere when you poured it in

Hey there, I‘m having quite the same issue doing this for the first time. Can you - or somebody else - tell me where to get those 2mm threaded bolts without a driver (in it’s head)? I searched the whole internet for it, but without having luck so far. And I don’t want to use bolts with a driver as the magnetic force is lower then. 🧲 I hope someone can help me.

We do not but there are companies that do make them. Silk Graphics would be our recommendation.

@@LightBicycleOfficial yeah, but these should be applied before building up the wheels. If you don't offer this as some kind of an upgrade, then is it maybe possible to send in some hubs?

Which SAPIM nipple do you recommend for CX-Ray spokes (mtb)? 14mm or 16mm?
@LightBicycleOfficial Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t make a huge difference, we use 16mm for almost all builds. The spoke lengths are effected by 0.5-1mm so that’s the only thing to keep in mind between the two. Can likely get away with the same lengths with both 14mm and 16mm nipples. We prefer 16mm though.

I am looking at the Falcon UFO disc wheel. The brake track is 28mm and internal is 21mm. I know on LB website that the minimum size tire is a 25c but is that proper? I feel like the 25c tire will inflate more flat on top and have more rolling resistance. Is the UFO really (supposed) to be fitted with a 28c?

1:14 "bottom barrel underneath the thread" - what does it mean?
@LightBicycleOfficial Жыл бұрын
It means that on the D-Light spokes the width of the spoke narrows in the middle which means it can't be easily cut, a spoke like the Sapim Race is the same width (thickness) all the way along after the threads which means it can more easily be cut/rethreaded. However, it is better to order the right lengths of spokes than to cut them to size.

I think I need to offset my rim to the hub!!! The rim and tire is not centered to the back frame... Don't know how much shorter the spokes needs to be the gear side.... I made new wheel with a wider rim, and now my tire is obviously wider...and rubbing on the brake side...
