Still remember seeing Jack perform this song live for the first time at a very small SXSW show in 2016. One of the most memorable experiences I've ever had at that chaotic music festival. Jack is a generational talent. An artist's artist. Incredible.

What the hell. He botched and reversed the meaning of the best line in the song. self-professed and profound UNTIL the chips were down. not while the chips were down. Strange. And a couple times in the song I was reminded of Maya Rudolph singing the Star-Spangled Banner. All that said, I love Jamie and his music. ❤

LUCKY. I have not been to any kind of concert in YEARS. ( I went to Dead and Phish shows in the late 80s early 90s.) But I think I would like to see him !
