Just a Question when using LODS. I have never used the old "Toolkit" I am rather new and have some questions. Question 1: In the example you show You have more than one project in the same blenderfile - but under different collection - For example. MainTerminal Terminal2 Terminal3. When you later (and I am sure that you must) make LODs of these. Are you then splitting them up on different blendfiles? As I can imagine - you must do so. Question 2: I love structure and it can ofc be handled i different ways. One way I love is to use Collections. As I can see - when you have a maincollection. And build that collection all sub-collections is also included in the model. I have not still tested to load it in MSFS but when I test the final gItf file in 3D viewer all parts from all collections are there. The problem (if it is a problem ) is that I have no idea to get rid of the sub-collections in the exporters objects tab. But you do not need to select them. Just select the main item. Question 3: In the Timken project I have built together with you - You always copied your texturefiles in the ../texture/ in the project. But as I can see - the asobo exporter automatically copies the texture files to the ../texture/. Maybe it was not so with the toolkit?. Is there any reason today to copy these files? I cannot see that. To be honest - I sometimes deletes all textures on ../texture/ to check that the copy works. I am not sure - but I also have a thought that the exporter converts ev jpeg to png automatically? Have a nice day Christopher and continue the good work you are doing and share with us. // Erland

Thanks once again for this nice tutorial. Thanks to you, I was able to make a custom sign tonite. I just have on question, though... After importing the image I created at Kria, it didn't look as bright as yours and have a pale shade to it. Any ideas about the cause of that? Thank you very much for your precious work and helpings. Hi. Thank you for your tutorial series your measured and honest delivery of what we need to do is just right for me. I am used to using directories/folders etc to run things but haven’t done that for about 20 years. Well done I have a question I have imported an auto and model into blender( .stl file. ) Just to paint. It. I have unwrapped the painted model. There are a lot of faces in the unwrap area painted. Are these paint /textures to be put in the project textures folder ( tut1-materials) in your tutorials. Would I need to add roughness to them to give them a texture. Many thanks. Geoff Elks😊
@myphysicalworld3958
@myphysicalworld3958 Ай бұрын
Actually, textures used to paint objects are placed in the "texture" folder of your modelLib folder. The "Textures" folder in your materialLib is used for "in Sim" ground textures.

Watching your series. I am a former Software Engineer so the SDK is much easier for me, but I lack in modeling skills. So is Blender used more often than Krita. Also what series of your videos would be best to watch for Blender skills. Thanks
@myphysicalworld3958
@myphysicalworld3958 Ай бұрын
Krita is a "paint" style software (used for creating textures), whereas Blender is modeling. Playlist "Fairfield Inn" or "Quonset Hangar" will give an idea on modeling in Blender.

@@myphysicalworld3958 This is a little off the subject your teaching, but thought I would ask it in general. If you have an airport , default, that the taxiways have wrong numbers is there a way of changing the numbers, without creating a package, and deleting all the taxiways and doing them all over so you can give them the proper numbers? Maybe one of your many videos may add some clarification to what I am asking.

It would be great to follow along except in Blender, out-of-the-box, does not have a single vertex option. You have to first load the “extra objects” add-on in preferences. You did something similar to this in another video without prefacing that the feature needs to be turned on first, FYI.

Curious, when you put in your "Normal" and "Roughness" textures (for the corrugated roof), they were not rotated 90-degrees and scaled down (like the first texture), would that not make a difference in appearance?

Thank you very much for contributing so much of your time and energy into making these videos. Reading the SDK documentation is a great foundation (I only wish people emphasized that more), but your videos are really the icing on the cake, in terms of getting jump started into FS development. Great job! You're my Krita guru! At 2:30, I cracked up when you revealed the naked truth about statistics. It took me back to my statistics instructor in the '60s, a guy named Tom Lehrer: In the first class he wanted us to be sure to appreciate the realities of statistics. He told us that statistics is often an application of the "Reverse Einstein Effect" - namely: "Creating Matter out of Sheer Energy". You can imagine what the rest of the course was like ...
