Helpful video. Like your wife, I’m enjoying my sportster! However, it simply isn’t built for everything I want it to do as I grow as a rider, so I’m in the market to add an ADV bike. Love the styling and features of the Pan Am (especially the adaptive ride height since I’m only 5’-7”) but holy smokes…I CANNOT justify the $20,000 price tag. Alternatively, the used market for these things scare me given the issues they’ve had…sadly, all this scratches Harley off the list.

They first of all are NOT A VEHICLE MANUFACTURER! But an investment company! With the traditional formula of buy low, sell high! That works in high end realestate and money management markets, but NOT vehicle sales! They bought a high value brand of go anywhere do anything vehicles, then tried to turn it all around like the investment side, to raise the prices in the name of higher luxury and quality? Before adding the VALUE they wanted to charge! But the American buyer might be foolish, but NOT stupid! So now their vehicles are sitting unsold on lots gathering dust and lot rot, the most deadly force ever to car companies! So the idiots at Stellantis must GO, get Jeep and truck guys in charge! First of all LOWER prices are better gaining 5% profit on every one made, than trying to take 35% out of 40% sales!!! I bought a new Gladiator just 8 weeks ago, because I found a dealer offering a $15,000 discount on a $51,000 msrp! Like I said 30% LESS and hey will sell! That’s exactly what all the dealers I visit say, but you have to still be a good buyer to qualify for the crazy rates the banks want!

Prices of Wranglers have soared over the past couple of decades, while quality control woes have become all too well-known. Rising gas prices and the introduction of Ford's Bronco have just added salt to the wound. It didn't seem that long ago that you could buy a 2-door TJ with an inline-6 and manual transmission for under $20k. TJ/Wranglers were a very attractive option at that price point. Base price is now over double that, and no longer attractive. Now they're over-priced and unreliable toys.

Even his low beams were entirely too bright. I got tired of it, and started blasting my brights at him. This went on back and forth every morning for weeks. I sorta agree with you, but not totally. Yes there is a diehard group that only wants the minimum because they are only going to mess it up rock crawling, mudding, off-road. But, there is the true mall-crawler/soccer mom group that wants the creature comforts & then there is the middle & that's where I am. I still have a 1999 TJ that is rough & tough & that Jeep gets beat up with no care. But I also have a JLU Rubicon with all the bells & whistles & I daily drive that one. The real issue is Stellantis increased their prices dramatically due to greed during the low supply/high demand (Covid Era) & they are still trying to get those prices like all the other greedy automakers, but that is the part that must change. The whole auto industry is having issues due to this.

The modern ultra bright vehicle lights, on road and off road models are not only designed to increase illumination, but are designed to decrease the phycological happiness and comfort of the human who is subjected to being lit by them.( on coming traffic at night) Example; Think about how law enforcement uses lights to modify human behavior during traffic stops. All these light to be recalled! 🤬
@monologic48063 ай бұрын
The height of the lights and vehicle are factors, I think. I wonder if all vehicles had to have their lights only at a certain height above the ground. Would it be less safe for pedestrians? It would be great if NHTSA did some test and studies.

Creature comforts? Eh...only thing I have on my jeep I didn't before is steering controls and cruise control, not complaining about that. For size? They are bigger, not sure what you are talking about. For price? My jeep was 31k. Brand new ordered to me. Inflation included the older jeep was more expensive. For sensors? I mean...what? Tire pressure sensor going bad stresses you out? Mechanical failures? Extremely reliable. Some manuals caught fire sure. But you'll get 200k miles easy. And if you don't? Engines are cheap, these engines are better drive anyway. Inline 6 was great, but this v6 has so much more scoot to it than my old TJ. 60k miles not a single hiccup. My 130k tj had some serious issues with proper maintenance. We'll see. Over all the only thing that drives me nuts is the electronic throttle. I hate the minor delay it has on my stick shift. It's more capable than my old sport too. So...

@@charleshill3503 well, thanks for watching anyway. 😁🤷🏻♂️ as far as expense I’m talking real time, real life economy today, for the average persons budget. As far as sensors, look it up. You will find all kinds of sensors that will shut you down or throw you into limp mode and that’s not what I personally like as far as driving experience. As far as mechanics go, the internet and Jeep community is full,of horror stories of mechanical failures. The big problem however is in many cases not being able to fix them on the trail. I know that there are also many people that LOVE the JL/JLU platform and they definitely have a lot of great things that new vehicles have to offer. For me though, I enjoy the driving experience of the TJ. I also have a JK and have had a JKU in the past and both of those have given my wife and I great memories and experiences.
