Looks awesome!❤ Btw where do you edit your videos?
@aleksk74782 ай бұрын
Thank u! This is unedited, I just added the music using DaVinci Resolve. It’s super 8 film which gives this visual effect, and I got it developed at Niagara Customs Lab in Canada! I hope that answers your question :)

It’s not a love story, it’s a story about the conflict between authentic maturity and feigned maturity. It’s a coming of age story, neither Robbie nor Cecelia are the subjects, but rather Briony
@Bjjbhcoa863 жыл бұрын
It is also about classism. How Robbie's life can be ruined by a young upper class girl, everybody believes her because Robbie is lower class; also remember the imaginary scene where Briony visits Cecilia and Robbie and apologises? They tell her to tell the truth and say that it was Danny Hardman (Alfie Allen - the gardener iirc), so even they believe the real culprit must be someone lower class.
@vis.vision2 жыл бұрын
@@Bjjbhcoa86 I get what you mean, but that's not exactly true, because the scene when B visited C&R was made up for the purpose of the book, and Briony feeling less guilty, about the fact that in real life, she never apologized to them. So even here, classism was still on Briony's side of thinking, not theirs.
@Bjjbhcoa862 жыл бұрын
@@vis.vision Oh yes for sure, I was not saying even Robbie and Cecilia were classist characters, I just meant the mentality in the storytelling even shows itself in an imaginary scene when the character that feels remorseful still actually keeps the very thing that made all this tragedy happen, intact. So, Briony is devastated for what she has done, she feels guilty, responsible; but she does not get to the crux of the problem. She does not reach the societal critique level of it. And I think that is deliberate.

A type movie that is never made in a history of cinema. A movie that is so rare and not a single scene of the movie is copied. A movie that is very - very close to the 90% of human reality and truth about life and dosen't get that much credit and appreciation, dosen't get that much award and viewership and should won the oscar and much more recognition. Feel bad for the movie - "ATONEMENT". Pls watch🙏 whoever's reading this. You ll not dissatisfied.

I wonder why they chose for Briony to have the same hairstyle in all the timelines. Is it to make her recognizable as Briony for the audience, or maybe because she carries the burden of her actions throughout her whole life portrayed by having the same hairstyle…? Maybe that’s too deep lol, but I just really wonder why😅
@aleksk74783 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that’s an interesting observation! I also wonder why, I think your ideas make sense! She is forever changed by that action and moment in time which may be reflected in her appearance like you said, like not being able to move on or change even in simple things like her hair. It does also make her recognizable like you said! The actors change three times through her life so it does help to identify her throughout the film. Thanks for watching :)

@@aleksk7478 You worded it very beautifully! Great analyses of the film btw. I never knew they used that gloomy effect to give the effect of a memory that will never be seen clear again. Now I also wonder why Joe Wright chose to use that same effect in the film Anna Karenina…😂

@@variety8952 Thank you! It was for one of my film classes but I might make some more, it was so fun to do! I haven’t seen Anna Karenina yet but I’ve been wanting to, I’m trying to read the book first! If it’s also in Anna Karenina it might be apart of the directors style too, I just thought it gave off a dream like, hazy quality, kind of like a memory!

People tend to keep the hairstyle from the time they cherish most. That was her moment; a time she thinks about the most. She never evolved she only had a guilty conscience. The same could be said about very successful people like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg. They simply don’t evolve.
