The Galaxies were a dealer promo. They gave them out to customers, and the inscriptions on the underside stated the features of the Galaxie. Love the medium blue color. Very age appropriate. Nice job.

I'm not a fan of 1/16 but the MPC is a gem. The tooling details are spot on and the fit is very nice. I opened up the doors, carpeted the interior and added some detail to the 360 FI engine. It really makes a beautiful model. I'd do it instead of the 1/25th AMT version of the '63. It's 60 years old and clunky by comparison.

I heard AMT is going to re release that 1/16 mustang some time soon The 1/16 55 chevy has centerline looking Wheels and the 57 chevy has crager's and the 57 T bird has sloted mag's if your looking for some different wheels

the only things you need to check for the mods you propose are the rear cab panels to make sure they line up the same ..and cab and sleeper mounts ..

I remember the 1964 and 1/2 well . We were living in Germany at that time, my Dad was with Military Intelligence and one of his officers bought one and had it shipped to Germany. It was the white convertible model. A really cool auto for that time.

I've built the 16th scale one and it's a product of it's time, the early 1960s. Admittedly I didn't do such a good job with it but it would have been nicer with separate badges for the body, the door hinges could be a lot more realistic and you should be able to open and close the hood rather than build it with or without the hinges. However, the dashboard is molded so well you can actually read the instruments on it and I like that it has a full list of all the available colors. It's the biggest car kit I've ever built and I guess with a lot of hard work it can look really good.
