Sounds good to me. I just acquired a mandolin 2 months ago and am enjoying the learning process. You will soon be even better!

So I see its an Epiphone? Yeah. If I were you? Sell it, get back some of that $200 and get yourself a QUALITY instrument. You're progressing pretty fast; however, if you slowed down with the faster tunes, you'll build muscle memory, and the speed will come as a result! Whenever I play my fiddle, or guitar, or flute or dulcimer or...ANY of my instruments I always play slowly for the first hour or so...AND, are you practicing scales? 🤔 I know they are boring...lol...but trust me, they HELP, a lot. And use a metronome. 😊 I dont because Im also a drummer...sooo..lol...But you should!! It will help your timing!

You're doing well...BUT! Have you even had that set up?! 😮🙄 So much string buzz...What kind of instrument is it? 🤔

I would suggest just learn one tune at a time but people do what they do.

Probably more efficient yeah, but I just needed some variety haha

do you personally have any tips for a brand new beginner to mandolin, as i am coming from guitar and bass and the tuning is very foreign and i can't seem to make any sense of it. thanks so much and it sounds great!

Thank you! I pretty much started from scratch and had no guitar habits to "unlearn", so not sure how much use I can be but I'll try! haha Typical tuning is GDAE, like a violin or a ukulele, but beyond that I am still getting my head around it all. Having a reference for the note positions helped. www.mandozine.com/resources/fretboard/index.html I play basic scales a lot, just trying to reinforce the muscle memory of note positions on the fretboard. I am mostly struggling with quickly jumping to chords and figuring out how the jam all my fingers onto the tiny frets, and getting enough pressure on the frets with my pinky.
