Bob, meeting you while waiting for the end of the race 10k photo opp during Princess 2024 means such You offered me the chance to be in your group photo. That was my first ever RunDisney race and challenge weekend. I felt alone but you and the group made me feel welcomed. ❤

Should these drills be incorporated weekly into our training runs?
@BobRaichle3 ай бұрын
Yes. It's a good idea to include both in one of your weekday training events

I still dont quite understand the "glide" portion of this drill 🤷♂

Think of it as coasting instead of gliding. it’s like when you’re driving your car in a 55 mph zone and the. come into a 30 mph zone. You don’t slam on the brakes; you just coast down to the slower speed. Of course, if you’re like me and your running pace is slower than your walking pace, the. I guess you do the opposite. 😅

@hubmacfan gives a great example of relating gliding like a car. If you are driving a car and you were to take your foot off the gas, your car would naturally slow down the further you went because your foot is not on the gas anymore. This can be like running when it's time to do your walking interval. If you would walk abruptly right after running, it can cause injury. But, if you get to your walking interval and naturally slow down, it's easier on the body.

If it helps, I try to myself coming to the bottom of a hill. I want to use that momentum and gradually glide to walking speed.

I can’t wait to hear what cosplayer groups show up to support the runners! They were always my favorite! Maybe the red hat ladies too?

I’m excited to see how much of the half marathon is in the parks. Looking to make it next year but all choose my distance based on the route. 🎉❤

I'm so excited to see the event. I won't be there this year, but I can live it out vicariously through the Rise and Run family! Can't wait to see the video (hint hint ;)) Thanks!!

I ran the Keys 100 Relay a few years ago. It is by the same RD as the Daytona 100 but this one runs down US 1 through the Florida Keys and ends at Key West. It was a blast!

That would be such a fun relay to do!

Good call on always grabbing the Mylar blankets. (Or anything else Disney wants to give you “for free” 😂) I did not take the nap at the 22 W&D and lived to regret it at the party, because I was DEAD. In 23 I did a lot better at that, laying in bed and watching football. Unfortunately then it kinda got chilly at the party and we wound up leaving early anyway, but at least it wasn’t because I was falling asleep on Guardians again!
