💜I absolutely loved this song the very first time I heard it and I listen to it again and again!!!!!!!!

Thanks Chuck. I would love to hear extended version of the song. Don't think it exists though.

FACTS 🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊

The processes being described here make Prince's "productions" difficult to recreate. The songs are still easy to cover. All you need are the chord changes, melody and lyrics to "cover" a song. Whether anyone likes the cover would remain to be seen.

Great analysis Mr. Hardgroove. Prince sparks a lot of debates as to his creative methods.

Matt fink was in the NPG for 4 years so 87-91? And I’ve heard Mark Brown in an interview said that prince asked him to join him and Matt in the NPG after he quit.

Prince is known for his legendary guitar, and through the internet people have realized he was a polymaster of most instruments he played. But what people don't know is that he was probably the best drummer of all time.

@musiciansreveal I agree! I've always been a super fan. I heard him when he first came on the radio, at around 15/16, then attended the "Tour 80's Prince" concert (my 1st) at age 17. I became "addicted" to his music, performing , style, and philosophies! What a wonderful human being to have touched/moved so many, in a way, at the level very few can! We lost a great, but he left us with so much music we've yet to hear that he'll live in our hearts and minds forever! GENIUS! ♥️

Chicago. Uptown Theater 1980. My very first major concert. I was nineteen; and I absolutely idolized Rick James: his attitude; his rebelliousness; his love of women; his love of weed. I also was very drawn to the "other worldliness" of Prince; his coolness; his incredible musical abilities; the punk aesthetic of his image. The Uptown Theatre was a rather small, neighborhood theater. I'm not sure about the size capacity, but I'd estimate it at about 1,000. Prince performed in a vest--and a pair of zebra-print briefs. They played for about 1 hour; music from his two albums; ending the show with, "I Wanna Be Your Lover." After about a 20 min. break, Rick James came on. Although I'd come to , (primary) see Rick James--on the way home, I had to deal with the reality that: Rick James had gotten blown away onstage that night. I remained a fan---but, undeniably, Prince had begun his rise. Years later, I STILL can't believe I was lucky enough to witness what I saw that night.

Prince wasn't a big fan of Elizabeth Taylor, apparently. That's understandable. She absolutely loved HIM though. At least Michael Jackson spent time with her! I remember hearing the story about Elizabeth Taylor standing directly before Prince gushing about her admiration for him and someone having to come rescue him by inserting himself between them and making a huge scene talking about how much he adored him, creating a situation where Prince could escape the torture. It worked and Prince was eternally grateful to the guy.
