I love the Arizona desert, especially Tucson. I have family there. I like Soro cactus And jumping Choya barrel cactus I just love that area we would go to Tucson a lot when my grandmother was still alive and I was a little kid. I just love Arizona planning on moving there when I retire as a firefighter in California Lemoore, California to be exact Central valley of California I am retiring in January 2025. And I can’t wait. I’m gonna live full-time in my truck camper selling the house and everything in it including the dog and cat just kidding. They’re coming with me. I am so excited cannot wait for January my wife died a couple years ago cancer got her 😢I cannot live in my house any longer now that she’s gone, me and my Little Molly girl, the dog and CAT that’s her name CAT oh, by the way I loved your video. I watch a lot of these to get ideas, but I have a camper with slide out one on each side and one in the back it makes so much of a different than a truck camper with no slide outs or any camper with no slide outsI’m gonna do it right cause I live in it until I die in it most likely😂 happy Thanksgiving, everybody👍

I do a little different with my shore power cord in my S&S. I have an inverter in the same position as you keep your battery box below the stove. What I do is, instead of routing the shore power cord in through a panel with a hole through the bed access door opening, I have a have a short 12 gauge extension cord that I plug into the inverter and route it up into the sink cabinet then between the oven and propane tanks to where the shore power cord is at it's access door. I plug the extension into the shore power cord, then plug the other end into the inverter and it powers all the 120 volt in the TC. I have enough solar and battery to run the fridge, all the laptops and batteries needing to be charged. I also have two exterior outlets to power outside stuff. I don't have enough to run the AC so I leave that off. 600 watt inverter, 700 watts solar, 400 AH LIFEPO. Otherwise, looks like you guys found a nice spot. Maybe see y'all at the Roadrunner Truck Camper Rally in February. Take care.

@CITAP1 That sounds like a great set up! I'm not very good at electrical stuff, it always confuses me. Which doesn't take much sometimes.🤣. So far we love this thing. Take care yourself and God bless.
@CITAP1Ай бұрын
@DestinationDesert I noticed the comment about using your cargo straps to hold down the TC. I keep a set of those, a little heavier type, and have used them as hold downs in emergency when I've had turnbuckles pull through the mount holes and disappear. I can get 2 strap wraps through the eyes on the hooks, and I believe it actually has a higher load rating than a turnbuckle. You want your hold down setup strong, but not so strong it pulls out the TC hold down point when you hit a bad bump in the road. The straps also have elasticity so they'll stretch a bit. Who knows, cargo straps might be a better system than chains and turnbuckles. PS: Stainless Steel is your friend.

That 400 is pretty sweet mate, i might have to try one, there's a few for sale around where i live at the moment, to bad i can't really afford one at the moment. My partner had a go on my old 600 the other day. It's her first time riding a motorbike in around 35 years or more. Last time and also first time she's ever ridden motorbikes was on her family's xr125 farm bike back when she was 12, she used to take it up into the forestry tracks with her friends on weekends occasionally. I took a 30 second clip of her riding it last weekend. It's only riding around the yard but considering it's been so long and also first time ever on a 600 i think she did well. Check out my channel to watch it you like. 👍 Handled it no problem. Might take her up some tame forestry tracks next.

@@DestinationDesert Thanks mate. Yeah i think she handled it good too for not riding in so long. The 600 is probably a bit big for her but it's all good she's a big girl lol. Will get her back into the forestry next after a couple more practices around the sheds. I'll try get some footage next month of my mate and I riding through the base of the mountains and rivers down south. Think I'll just take the old 600 for that trip rather than the 650 this time and my mate will be on his XR250👍. No idea how to edit videos yet but I'll have a try. I have an old GoPro I can use.

@@DestinationDesert yes thanks I can imagine. I know how much time and effort you guys put into your videos and appreciate the work involved by you guys, it's awesome to watch cool videos done well by people like yourself. I doubt mine will be good anytime soon but it may be a slow journey in gathering better cameras and mic's and experience etc as I go. At this stage it will start off extremely basic till I invest in some better tools, maybe a drone one day in the future as I've always thought would be cool to catch nice footage with that in the areas I get out into. More so to collect a few cool memories perhaps to look back on in years to come and also share with anyone ous around the globe who's interested in the same type of thing. Will be a channel of remote hiking, camping and adventure bike riding in beautiful areas of New Zealand along with the odd bit of classic truck show footage in NZ as well. Will see how I go lol. It may be a complete flop, but I got to start somewhere right.
