The poor siblings. These parents really did a bad job.

Boundary = WALL. Children will test boundaries (“they try me constantly”), as if they are a wall. If the wall stays strong they feel secure and loved. They will be compliant. They have no reason to act out as everything is strong and secure. They feel secure. If the wall collapses they feel insecure and vulnerable and they may act out. Children need the boundaries (wall) to stay strong so they can feel secure. Both parents are the wall and will be tested constantly until the wall stays strong continually. Once security is established all can relax. Behaviour is designed to get attention. Attention is the REWARD. Give attention only to good behaviour. Ignore bad. Do NOT give attention (reward) to bad behaviour. Bad behaviour if rewarded will only encourage the child to use bad behaviour to get attention every time. The secret is to catch the child displaying good behaviour and reward it immediately. This encourages the child to get attention from the parent with only good behaviour. Do not reward bad behaviour by giving it attention. Ignore it. Bad behaviour doesn’t get rewarded. How do you reward good behaviour. Compliment the child, spend time with the child (manicure).

This show makes me feel relieved that I don't have kids.

Kid needs to know there is consequences for her actions and consequences be consistent and that would help her some also

Retired teacher. Didn't put up with this behavior in the classroom. Parents didn't understand why their kids would behave for me and not them. Amazing what expectations and a little discipline will do. By the time I retired, they were saying we can't use time out, positive reinforcement only...and they wonder why teachers are leaving.

The bad moments for Meghann took place in 2005, but this revisit video took place in 2007, and 11-year-old Meghann is nothing like her 9-year-old self. According to the girls, Meghann was actually the teacher's pet at school but naughty at home. Nowadays, she is also a mom, and I believe she is a teacher as well (her son is nothing like her kid self). Paul and Denise are no longer together. The girls are grown-ups now.
