This is my area of the country. We can moan about where we live, but I think Suffolk/Essex is a nice area overall.

Great vid Tom. Sorry about that ration meal, but not worth eating if it tastes so horrible! Great views from up there, and nice you got to camp with some good mates too. All the best to you Tom.😊

Thoroughly enjoyable video Tom. Suprising how much is in those ration packs, and lovely to see Dawn's excitement at trying them out, even if it did repeat on her. 😊 Cheers 👊

Great vid, Tom. Do you have any more info about the camp, or where to find info?

I have a bad feeling it's no longer there! They might have sold the land and built houses on it last I heard!

Great vid, though sorry to hear that Dawn had such a bad time due to the badly fitted back pack. Good that you stopped to sort it out....not good to carry wright awkwardly. Love that sunset! Cheers guys!😊

I'm sending this to my brother in Australia, as he and his wife came over to Rugham, where I now live with my partner, just off Mouse Lane at Drury Close..He's lived in the same place since he was 14, and now 68...My brother even mentioned Rougham today, 10th Sept.2024! He always says "How are you in lovely Rougham?"..I watched a chap measuring the mighty oak tree in front of our house, he ran a tape round it, and told me it was "Off the scale" so is about around 800 years old! He came back and said there was a record of that oak being planted in 12 13! ..The Restricted Road, that leads to the Church, I believe is what an old gentleman here, called the "Roman Road"..It's certainly straight enough!..Alas, no more airfield left, had to make room for huge Industrial warehouses, and a new garage for electric cars! Plus a convenient store... .

Not sure as this is a very old video and I got rid of the mat years ago. Depends. Everyone sleeps at different temperatures.

Nice video Tom , I remember visiting High Elms years ago , the Lubbock family also had a private cemetery that you passed through on a foot path from behind Farnborough church down to Shire lane but I hear it now so overgrown it is now hard to find.

Tom & Luke Excellent trip guys !! I live near there on the river so I know all the tracks & river routes from Maidstone to Rochester on both side of the Medway river. I walked down from Cuxton over Peters bridge to Burham then on to Aylesford yesterday afternoon. I was doing a reccy to find a camping spot on side river i could pull the kayak up on to overnight. There's an amazing offshoot river i call crocodile creek ( was a loading area for the barges for old Burham brickworks ) that I've paddled up a few times ( opposite DPD depo) its like something out of Jurassic park !! I actually walked past your very last camping spot where you were gutted not to be on the river on your last night , just couldn't believe it but just 200 metres further up the track there's a level spot right on the river bend looking towards peter village which is now completed . Will email you some pics and other shortcut routes !!

Sackville was Lord Warden 3 times. The first 2 occasions as 7th Earl of Dorset. On the third occasion he was Duke of Dorset. 1728. I believe that is the date the Lords Warden first made Walmer Castle their residence.

Tom and Dawn you are both lovely people. You keep us entertained on your walks, and always tell us about the local history, or things of interest which are always interesting. Beautiful area around the reservoirs. Now I know where the name Pargeter probably came from. Nice choice of meals, and I love the sleeping bag story! Also the passing place....trust you guys to pick that up!Thanks again, you lovely people!!😊,🌻
