I have had huskies for years and they are wonderful dogs! They are all that this video says they are but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE research this breed and know what you are getting into when you get a husky! So many huskies are in rescues and shelters right now because people want them because they are beautiful and fun, but they don’t know what to do with them after they have had them for a short time. Huskies are stubborn, they are escape artists, they can have sensitive stomachs, and their coats take a lot of work. Their exuberance for life is wonderful but that exuberance makes them a toddler for life. Huskies take time and patience, but they truly are one of the best breeds out there, but you have to know and understand them to appreciate them. Be especially aware of the huskies who have woolly coats(long haired). They take even more grooming because they can Matt easier. And ….NEVER EVER SHAVE A HUSKY! Their coats protect them summer and winter. They do not have in their skin what it needs to protect them from sunburn and most times their coats will not grow back properly if shaved. They do not much bathing, if at all. Mine are woolies and they have never had a bath and they are as fresh and clean as if I had bathed them. Brushing is key. They have natural oils in their skin that help keep their coats clean. If you do bathe them, make sure their skin gets completely dry, or their skin can become yeasty or even get an infection. So much to these huskies, but please research before you get one and if you do get one, be prepared for the best time of your life with it, but know what you are getting in to. They are not labradors, but tall their characteristics is what makes them wonderful and awesome!

I've not had a problem with litter mate syndrome, maybe because my Husky's are always with me, even when I leave the house. I kept a litter of 7 male Husky/Shepherd pups (along with the Ger. Shep. mother and an unrelated 9mo. old Husky). The pups grew up to be bigger than Malamutes, ranging from 101-150 lbs. each....didn't have to bend over to pet any of them. The only problem with them was 3 of them were alphas. When they were younger (under 2yrs) they would 'spar' to see who was going to be the pack alpha. I would have to separate them (a risky task) and remind them I was the alpha. Walking them was problematical since any 2 of them outweighed me. They turned out to be a great bunch, socialized with with people, they loved children, and stopped the bears from pillaging my trash cans. They were born in '99 and the last one passed in '14, after which I had a real case of 'empty nest' syndrome. (That was fixed by rescuing 4 Husky's - 2 males and 2 females - over the following 6 mo.)

I agree with leashing them. Husky's are 'focus' or attention oriented. When something grabs their attention, they are 100% 'into it'. The leash breaks that focus and keeps them out of trouble. They are easily distracted by moving objects and will follow the object (like a cat) without concern for bigger dangers. Since I take them with me every where I go, a leash is a must. Even at home when we walk the property (2-3 acres) they have a leash... 25 ft. of para cord dragging on the ground without me holding it. They know they are supposed to stay with me, but if they get distracted by a chipmunk, rabbit, snake, etc. they go into high gear (they're always in hunting mode) and I just step on the trailing cord to break their focus. Having a long cord means I can control the pressure I put on the cord and bring them to a stop in 4-5 ft. without jerking them. That keeps them from disappearing into the woods (and maybe not being able to find their way home). A few yrs ago I adopted a pair of white Husky boys who were found living in the woods. I had them for 9 yrs before they passed, within 3 mo. of each other, which indicates they were probably litter mates. I have 2 girls now who are litter mates. Litter mates will usually stick together. That means, if they are off leash and one runs, the other will follow.

Every breed of dogs have some restrictions in their food and other aspects like how to clean their hair and furr etc and how to keep your dog fit and healthy etc. Every dog owners should religiously keep noticed of this things , from my opinion

How often does this happen? Does personality play a role? We adopted a male / female pair at 9 weeks old in 2018 and never experienced any of these issues. My two babies could not have had any more personality differences. And health issues too. Now 6-1/2 years old, Retro, the male, has been healthy all his life. Rhea, his little mate sister, became ill just after her third birthday. She passed in Sept 2023 at only 5-1/2 years old.

Amen. And if it isn't stock video, it's been stolen or pieced together from other channels and turned into something completely different. Also, I'm not certain all the "advice" here is accurate.

As one person put it: "Huskys are half cat." This explains some of their odd behavior and the ease with which they can bond with a cat.

To my surprise my grandson came home with a purebred husky from the Humane Society. They thought his age to be a year and a half. Found on streets no info. I owned at various times a boxer doberman Irish setter shepherd and a boxer/pit. Those dogs ate like crazy. His husky hardly ate! I made chicken and rice and now looks forward to eating. I’m glad it was confirmed they don’t eat a lot. Can we give him sardines or tuna with his meal? This video was very interesting and informative so thank you! 😊❤️🙏🏼🐕

I have had Huskys for 25yrs now. 8 have been 'rescues' and 7 were Husky/Shepherds born in my household (kept them all). They are VERY difficult to train because they are easily distracted by squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, deer, snakes, cats, birds, bees, deer.... you name it. The rest of your video is very good. My 'girls' love to travel so I take them with me everywhere I go. They're with me 24/7 and are wonderful companions. They also suffer from separation anxiety like when I have to leave them in the van to go into a store. They do go into Tractor Supply with me and 'greet' everyone in the store.

"multicolored or blue eyes" a video talking about myths that also talks myths... Huskys with brown eyes are more common, blue eyes are usually forced by breeders and it also came with a higher % of visual issues.

LOL. I don't know how many Huskys you're raised but this idea that they are a joy to train is absolute malarkey. Huskys are not for everyone and in fact only a few can handle them. Most dogs think at about the same level as a 3 year old except Huskys are more like a 2 year old. They are not smart dogs either, they are clever and there's a difference. It does take a lot of skill to train a Husky and if you train them based on treats they'll never obey you unless you have a treat in your hand. But you did touch upon the key. Love. Huskys are unusually responsive to love. When they know you love them and they love you back they will listen much of the time. But it all boils down to what the Husky wants. Bear in mind they are a hunting breed and the world around them disappears if they decide some critter is game.

I wish your visual content was more synced up with what you're actually discussing. We're talking about Malamutes but we're looking at bears, we're talking about Malamutes but we're looking at Maltese. We're talking about Siberian Huskies but we're looking at a Malamute...I realize you're running the same visuals (more or less) in all your videos independent of the script, but maybe pump out fewer videos and work on the visual side.
