@2101Striper Dad was a Private Pilot for 50 years. We went to every big airshow in the states at least a couple of those years. Was able to Shake Pappys hand as well as Chuck Yeager's I'n those years. Dad had Pappy sign one of his Autobiography books. "To Roger, from one Black Sheep to another, Pappy B". Dad has passed on, I still have the book. Chuck Yeager passed away on my birthday, Dec 7th, Pearl Harbor Day. How ironic is that?.

can we put a 35CC DLE RA engine in a 20CC Phoenix Models Corsair 20CC variant - what's been your experinence with the retracts system on the model - I am planning to buy one for myself .. your experience would really help me make a decision .. thx
@2101StriperАй бұрын
Sorry for the late reply, I just saw your post. Absolutely you can put a DLE 35RA in the 79 inch wingspan Phoenix corsair. That’s what I did. You want to make sure that the factory glue joints related to the wing structure are solid. Sometimes the sheeting joints are poor and crack, which makes the wing very weak across the section where the landing gear cut out is. I fixed a few cracks since owning my Phoenix 20 cc corsair, and they have not come back. The landing gear has been pretty solid. I’m guilty of pounding in once or twice, and I did at one point break the reinforced plastic ankle where the wheel axle is attached. I have never ripped the gear out of this plane, and I’m impressed with how solid that has been. Again, it’s important to double check the main structure, glue joints, sometimes the fabricators do a poor job and that could cost you an airplane.

@2101Striper10 ай бұрын
The files are available here: 3dlabprint.com/shop/j35_draken/. The design is by Michael Hammer. He has other EDF designs including an awesome F-104 Starfighter. I use my simple Creality Ender 3D Pro with a 0.4 mm nozzel, and LW PLA (foaming) at about 250C to get maximum expansion / lightest density. It's a 4S setup, HobbyWing FlyFun 40A ESC and an FMS 4S 2627 4500kv 11 blade 50mm EDF.

Take a look at the DA-35 dimensions and weight with muffler. Compare to the DLE 35RA. I suspect the numbers will be very close. If so, I'd say yes you can. Just keep and eye on the wing structure for cracks forming... and fix them.
