I can't make up my mind i love them all. I use mostly acrylic because of $ but mandala is my favorite ☺️. And loops and threads have amazingly soft yarn as well🧶😉. Looking forward to seeing all your knits.

Your Gemma Cardigan is really lovely. How was the pattern quality? (I tend to not trust paid patterns that don't have a Ravelry entry b/c I can't find other people's experiences with it easily.) I'd absolutely love to watch a project vlog of you making yourself a second one. I immediately recognized the designer of the Goldenrod Sweater, haha. I actually have her pattern book out from the library right now. You also sold yourself a bit short. You forgot to talk about your daisy cardigan that you made for your mother-in-law (I think)!

You are right! haha I totally forgot about it until I saw her wearing it on Thanksgiving xD And i really enjoyed the Gemma cardi. I wasn't very experienced at the time of making, and it still turned out really nice!!

I absolutely love the cardigan. I'm so going to snag that pattern and try to make one for myself. All of your sweaters you've made for yourself have turned out so lovely. I've never made a wearable before so I'm nervous to start but I'll get it done! Sending you lots of good vibes! ❣

I've used RIT All Purpose Dye to overdye some superwash wools on my stove, and it is SO MUCH EASIER than what you went through with this acrylic. I'm glad you ended up with a color you liked. I was so surprised by just how much lighter it looked dried at the end than wet.

It was great seeing you learn more about the yarn dyeing process. Love your passion to learn and try new things. 🧶
@acacia72684 күн бұрын
A few pieces of advice/notes (my experience is not with acrylic but general dyeing techniques): There’s a tool called a niddy noddy for rehanking yarn. Also your yarn ties if tied too tight on the hank will create resist spots for the dye Dry yarn will unevenly absorb dye, but when wet all the fibers are ready to accept water/dye and it will be more even (which is why you soak it!) Acrylic as plastic can melt with heat, which might be why it feels different The first technique was called immersion dyeing, and the second is hand painting! Natural fibers should be soaked in warm/hot water for about half an hour to allow the fibers to be ready for dye, but other than that your process seemed great and should work for other fibers!! Good job!

🧶I've done it twice with some oddball cotton skeins! I did natural dye! The first was with tea and I loved how it turned out! The other one I dyed with coffee but I didn't like it so I redyed it with sumac. P.S. I wanted to follow you on instagram, but the link didn't work :)
