In the first half hour of this movie I looked up whether or not that bloke had been in the service because the way he carried himself looked so practiced. After this seen I looked up if he'd been a dancer as well

I must learn to do this dance. It took me literally 21 years to rediscover this film after first seeing it on IFC in the early 2000's. Just happened to chance on the wiki entry today after viewing a list of greatest films ever made.

Towards the end of the movie, the main character just gives vibes of Travis from Taxi Driver Spoiler vvvvvv When the names popped up, it left me chills. I’ve assumed that it alluded the main character had killed the ones who’ve served in the legionnaires. The dance scene just puts the cherry on top, with mirrors to me representing of how the MC is self aware, and him dancing all over the place is like a descent of sorts. Just brilliant.

Digital editing has progressed to the point where there is NO EXCUSE for the end character to be smoking or evening holding a cigarette. It is a MINIMAL EFFORT to do so, and this video should be blocked by KZbin until it IS DONE!

Saw this when teenager, love it, and I understand, all the times where He is in the streets, watching his boys from the distance, was his spirit, free of the boundaries of space and time, a ghost wandering😢
