I waa told by my old man during the Dennis Kearney laws in California in the 1800's the great citizens of Del Norte marched out a bunch of our local Chinese citizens and hung them in that spruce forest. Last time I was on Monkey Ridge was in 1973/74. What I remember is being able to look down on the South entrance to the Collier Tunnel.

Pandys made the best shrimp burger . They used the small cocktail shrimp from our drag boats. The patty was square not sure how they made them if froze shrimp first then breaded them. But it was a killer burger.

That retaining wall is not very thick, but it doesn’t last 20 years

I thought they would have put more assists into Monkey Ridge as Forest Service / BLM has a Repeater at the Old Monkey Fire Lookout the end of the road. Hopefully Trump will care. The Mismanagement of our Forest and Wildlands really Pisses this Retired OR / CA Wildland Firefighter off, hopefully they will salvage Log that whole area or it will just brush up again and Burn Hotter next time round.
