After some research, the song was written by Oates Van Schaik in 1983 for Forrest’s album One Lover and was later covered by The Limit, aka the band Oates and Van Schaik made. So in conclusion, the song was performed in 1983 by Forrest and then in 1985 was covered by the original writers.

This is the version that I love! I was glad when the updated version came out, but my favorite lyric in the song is “There’ll never be another me, cause I’m unique you see.” In the original Rosalind says it at the beginning and in the final vamp. They bookend each other. I was saddened when in the updated version she didn’t sing it in the outro. Still a good rendition just not my favorite.

Wow there isusic that a part of your life you love that comes in and out for a lifetime. I know my parents had this album sadly we lived next door to a thief teenager too who was enchanted with this album. I think after the 3rd replacement lp my parents had moved on . Time now to place it back in my stack of music at the end of 2023. Wow😂 some songs bring a lifetime of joy and smiles yesterday today tomorrow
