Well are you aware that not all states require contractor licensing? Pa. for example, where i was a builder for more than 40 years dosent require contractors to be licensed. Some municipalities will require an occupational license, for which there is no test, simply a fee in order to get one. In Florida on the other hand, where i have resided since retiring over 20 years ago, has very stringent licensing requirements. All types of contractors are required to take exams for licenses, including of coarse builders. Yet how many contractors do you think are out there who themselves arent licensed? There are those whoes wife holds the license, because they couldnt pass the test. There are numerous others who simply have a license hanging on their wall from someone willing to hang it there for a fee. Reputation of the people you want to hire is by far the safest way to select a contractor, any contractor.

I got so sick of the City Water recently and had to drink from Wells or Springs. During the Pandemic, they put so many chemicals in them, I got so sick from it. Luckily, my Grandma lives in a town that has a Natural Spring which we go to every 2 months for drinking water.

Also ask to SEE the license, insurance and bond... get copies. Kid you not, 4 contractors have been in my home and ALL 4 stated they had their license, but when asked to see it, ALL 4 stated "oh, I let that lapse last month".
