I just moved here last year things seem to be good for me so far , After living in Las Vegas this is a lot better for me. and cheaper cost of living . everything is here dont have to go far that is one of the reasons that brought me here ~ just have to learn how to deal with each issue if one appears ~ There is really no place that will be perfect its all about how you adapt ~

What is your favorite neighborhood in the Evansville, Indiana area?

These dont seem like 5 reasons to not more here. These are problems in just about every city, anywhere. Evansville is the 3rd largest city in Indiana. If you dont find that out while researching to move here, then thats your problem. I would say a reason to not move here would be the crime. Yes, its everywhere. But it happens more in the bigger cities, again we're the 3rd largest in Indiana. 🤷‍♀️

Evansville is a weird town. Everyone uses their personal cars as bulletin board on wheels, slapping opinionated stickers all over them, just like teenagers covering their bedroom walls with pictures and posters of their favorite music artists-juvenile. The best way I can describe Evansville is as a Hanna-Barbera cartoon show come to life. Evansville is full of cartoon characters. The only pro about Evansville is that violent crimes are low because most crimes there are just goofy drug addicts being goofy and comical. Whaa whaa whaaaaa. Darn it, Yogi, you did it again! (Laugh track playing in the background.) Evansville is a big town that thinks it's a city. A real city operates with a network where all resources and businesses work together, benefiting and thriving as a whole. Evansville’s resources and businesses are vulnerable to failures because they lack a dependable network to rely on. I’ve been to hundreds of cities and towns across the U.S., and Evansville is definitely not on the list of desirable places to explore. Everyone across the U.S. knows that. To be fair, Evansville is not the only big town like that. There are hundreds of big towns just like it, so Evansville shouldn't feel like the red-headed stepchild. No city or town is perfect. The best Evansville can do is work harder to build a reliable network.

My two adult daughters live in Evansville. I live there for a year in the mid nineties and couldn’t stand it. I’m originally from N. California so what do you expect. I will tell you this that raising a family it’s an excellent place. It’s NOT a singles person place at all unless your were born on a farm.

Evansville has changed a lot from when I grew up in the city. I live in Ohio now. Evansville is not cut off from everything I have lived in multiple towns that are towns like Lesterville,MO and Dothan,AL those are seriously cut off. Evansville is actually in the middle of everything especially if you like the night life. Louisville is 2 hours away, St. Louis is 2 and a half hours away, Indianapolis is 4 hours away, Cincinnati is 5 hours away, Nashville is 3 hours away and Evansville does have a pretty good nightlife downtown real good The casino, Adult entertainment that whole strip is booming. But the city is pretty cool.

Such a load of baloney. Mosquitoes are common almost everywhere in the U.S. Most of North America has hot, humid summers. Call your pest control company? Why, to add more chemical contamination to an already toxic environment? Spraying will NOT get rid of mosquitoes! Such an excessively stupid video!

Lived there and its the most backward and boring place ever.

One very bad thing about Evansville, Indiana is the never ending man made by the water department and natural street pot holes. Almost no street that you can drive on that you don"t have to dodge pot holes or you will knock your car out of alignment. Good for the companies who do car repair or finance car purchases but bad on your bank account! Pot hole are almost never fixed correctly so after time they get larger. Some areas of town the pot holes are so large you have to avoid driving a city block just to miss them. We have went through Republican and now Democratic mayors and neither one seem to get the job done with fixing the streets!!! Building a building in downtown seems to be more important than keeping us and our vehicles safe! This nonsense is fine for selling new cars and loans or repair shops, for selling big size cars that don"t feel the pot hole but not for everyone else!!! Evansville, Indiana = Pot Hole City Indiana!!!

I live in Louisville (which is not vile at all), and I have often traveled to Evansville for enjoyment. There are several nice museums, and a beautiful riverfront. And the zoo is wonderful.

Posey county property taxes are on the "SKY RISE". Ours have went up right at just a little over 30% in the past two years. Assessor says "its a desirable area" not that it really comes at the price of what it takes to replace the home. Overcharge.
