Hi have you any plans on doing the coast to coast? I found your Cleveland way videos crucial in planning my walk so was hoping you might do the same for the c2c?? Pete

Hi Pete. I was my ambition to do the C2C after the Cleveland Way but 50 years of walking have taken toll on my arthritic knees!. I did the C2C thirty years ago but didn't have high tech camera equipment and computer editing that we have today. I have a small team of walkers who do the camera work for me now so it may be possible to feature some of the C2C sections in the future. I'm glad you found the videos useful, thanks for watching.

Thanks for your kind comment. This year I was planning to update the section from Osmotherley to Scarth Nick which is now routed past Lady's Chapel but arthritis in my left knee has put paid to that. Good luck on your next walk.

On its own what distance us this circular extension? I'm thinking 2 1/2miles, would I be far out?

I love your videos because you show the whole walk and not just select bits of it. I've watched hundreds of walking videos on here and yours are definitely the best. I'm back off up to Staithes next weekend so really looking forward to getting out on the Cleveland way again, very much inspired by your videos, so thanks for sharing 🙂

Thanks for your kind comments Karen. When I conceived the idea of making a series of walking videos, over 3 years ago, I noticed the that the vast majority of existing videos were in the format of a walking diary. Some quite informative and entertaining but lacking in detail about route description and the general environment that people were walking through. One of my aims was to capture the atmosphere of the walk as well as describing the features and history on route.. I think the rich variety of both the scenery and history of the Cleveland Way lends itself particularly well to this format. Thanks again for your comments.

This is a great video thanks for sharing. I did part of this walk on my first visit to the beautiful Staithes last September but got a bit nervous where the path was very close to the edge at Boulby village, after watching this I'm definitely going to brave it and continue to Skinningrove when I visit again in March. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Thanks for your comment Karen. I think this is one of the best sections of the Cleveland Way. Enjoy the walk and hope the weather is good for you.

Hi. How long did it take to walk from whitby to robin hoods bay
@raymondcarrickclevelandwayfare3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your enquiry. It's about 7 miles of undulating paths so allow about 3 to 3 1/2 hours for your journey.

Hello Raymond. Thoroughly enjoyed watching your 'cleveland way' walk. Thinking of walking it myself in july. Could you tell me if its easy to follow? Plus any valuable advice would be much appreciated 👍
@raymondcarrickclevelandwayfare3 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary. Thank you for watching my virtual 'Cleveland Way', I think you'll enjoy the real thing even more! The walk in general is quite easy to follow, plenty of signposts and is well trodden. The section over the Cleveland Hills is quite exposed and the weather can change very quickly so wear the right gear. Enjoy the walk!

Hi there, did you continue following the Cleveland way all the way into Filey? If so will you be uploading the remaining videos, we're doing the coastal section in September and your videos have been a great guide!
@raymondcarrickclevelandwayfare4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jessgee, the Cleveland Way videos are still work in progress but I fully intend to complete all sections into Filey before the end of September. I am glad they have been of assistance.

I would love to know how long it took to walk each section... And also did you stay at any accom along the way?
@raymondcarrickclevelandwayfare4 жыл бұрын
Hi, Each section is taking 2 to 4 hours depending on length and how many additional photo's I take. Check the mileage figure in the bottom left-hand corner of the video to get an idea at your personal walking pace. As I live locally and did the walk in short sections I did not need accomodation but it is readily available. You will need to book ahead though.
