I have a 2016 Ford Fusion AWD and had its Clock Spring replaced this morning. Since I was having issues with multiple sections on both sides of the Steering Wheel, a defective Clock Spring seemed to be the best guess. Knowing my Skill Level. a local Repair Shop installed it for me. Parts and Labor ending up being about $450. If this had not corrected the problem, I would have to wait until it completely failed! It would have been a waste of my time and money chasing an intermittent problem. Enjoyed the Video and it allowed me to narrow down a possible solution! Not sure if Horn Issues are also Clock Spring issues? I"m not much a Horn user.

The fusion has been the most reliable car I have ever owned over the past 26 years, and it handles exceptionally well for a “budget” family sedan. BUT it does feel like Ford intentionally put unnecessary obstacles in the way to discourage DIYers. Thanks for the video.

I ran across this searching for how to put a second battery in an OBS Ford. Seriously...you went through all of that because the temps dips down to the mid 20s and not the mid -20s (as in minus 20s)?? I'm in South Dakota. We're still driving with our windows down in the mid 20s. What you need is a battery with a thing called "Cranking Amps." The more the merrier but that is not always the case. Sometimes that can be overkill too....I usually run 850 or 1000 cranking amp batteries in all my vehicles. But if you are in a warmer climate you might not be able to get them. You might only be able to find up to 500 or 600. So maybe you do need two batteries. I dunno. I shouldn't laugh. My plow truck, I'm looking at two batteries because I have the plow and now I'm adding a dump box. Anyway...nice install.

You should replace the motor mount at the same time as you do the timing belts and water pump, since you have to remove the mount anyway as part of the repair.

Good video bro, hoping to be working on an 86 soon, my favorite truck. If you are doing this, the manuals have a white steel shitty ass metal clutch plate, which cracks every 7 years or so, keep on mind you will be replacing them, the hairline Crack makes it a mother fuk'r using clutch pedal. Plus your screwing with your dash panels although bullnose is better than the bullnose panels, anyway good luck fixing up your bull

Dang brother! Be careful with that jack. You probably know this but the 4 raised points on the saddle should’ve oriented so the corner of the crossmember lands between the raised point. Two in front and two points in back. Then it won’t slip off unless the jack can’t roll with it as it goes up. Or use the actual jack points and jack up one side and put your stand under and then go to other side. (I know that takes to much time. So I jack in middle if possible depending on the vehicle. Anyway thanks for the video. Keep up the good work. 😊 And a dab of grease will hold that shim in so you don’t have to fight to get it between starter and all the stuff that’s in the way. Edit: I just noticed this video is 10 years old. 😂😂😂 Last thing. Please learn how to stay steady and/or get a stand for camera. Because this version is giving me motion sickness. 😂😂😂
