I get so happy and extremely sad at the same time whenever I see videos of them...🥲🥲🥲 I listen to kpop here and there but DBSK is probably the only group that I am actually a fan of.

I'm seeing a lot of people saying they wish newer Kpop fans would recognise that DBSK are legends and that newer groups can't compare. I can certainly relate to this feeling. I'm seeing BTS being brought up a lot as well. But when you really think about it - they exist in *very* different times. Back then, vocal ability was much more important for every member, and because social media wasn't a thing, most Kpop companies focused on expanding into the Japanese and Chinese markets which were much safer than the West. Even then, Cassiopeia still set the record for the biggest fan club in the world, with DBSK also setting the record for world's most photographed celebrities. They're still legends in Japan, to the point where Japanese fans don't even think of them as Kpop artists - they see them as Japanese artists. In this modern age where the world is much more connected, BTS is creating their own legacy and has contributed a lot to making Kpop mainstream worldwide, and to the mentality that artists should show their true selves to connect to their fans instead of maintaining squeaky clean, somewhat distant images like back in the day. They even broke the Big 3 dominance which has existed since the beginning and created a new major player in Hybe, whose artists continue to set the standard for the new generation of Kpop. DBSK was my introduction to Kpop. They will always and forever have my heart. To me, they're beyond compare, the brightest star to ever shine in the sky. But I want to recognise the achievements of the new generations as well. I want to tell them to treasure their idols as much as they can and enjoy this time they have together at the top of the world. Cassiopeia, everything changed for us so suddenly almost overnight, and we've been at each other's throats for nearly 15 years. I never want another fandom to go through what we did ever again. Let them have their time in the sun, because we know better than anyone how utterly precious those memories will be.

They were the BEST kpop boy band group, for sure 💕 2024 and I still miss them together 😢

miss their 5 part harmonies. i think going to japan really helped them develop artistically. the korean industry is more focused on superficial looks and gimmicks rather than artist development nowadays. that’s why you have idols debuting now that can’t even sing. it’s honestly an insult to the previous generations of idols that worked so hard
