I have the exact same mower, mine would not start. I finally took it apart and cleaned the carburetor and now it starts really good.. Only issue is if I leave the fuel shut off valve open it will leak all the gas the next day.. Does that mean I have to shut off the fuel valve every time when not using it?
@mcycleshawn14 күн бұрын
@@thewiseguy7100 the float in the carburetor should shut off fuel flow. Your needle may be worn or not be sealing correctly. Other option is the hose might not be good or connected perfectly. I would check those things or just turn off the fuel valve to keep the gas inside. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much, my life-saver!! My trim and screw themselves aren’t damaged, but because I hit a wild animal, the clips broke. Now, I can pull the middle part of the trim away and see inside. Should I take the trim completely off and then reattach it? I originally thought I could just put the parts onto the car body and press the trim back into place. Also, could you share the link to the clips you bought?
@mcycleshawn22 күн бұрын
Yes Easiest to remove all clips, install them on the molding and pop it back on all together. I didn’t buy any parts but I’m sure you could find them on eBay or local parts sold. A Nissan dealer could give you a part number.

So, i have an 82 saber thats been a project since i got it. And tbh i havent actually ridden yet. But i have learned from it. The battery drains from the clock, yes, its worth the time and effort to either keep it on a charger or disconnect the battery if you dont plan on using it every day. Also, the petcock is vacuum operated. If its getting up there with age and not being ridden enough, the gas can leak through your petcock making the gas over time drain all the way into your crank case if it sits there long enough. This is also a sign that your petcock is nearing the end of its lifespan and should be maintained. There are two preventitive measures for this btw, primarily riding your bike because the gas helps lubricate the seals. And draining the tank before storage.

I would recommend getting a noco brand gbx models. Which is their newer models. They charge via usb type c. Which is more common nowadays. At least maybe a gbx45 or gbx55, so you know you will have enough amps to start smaller and a bit bigger size engines. Plus I heard their warranty is pretty good. I have a noco gb40, which is an older model. Have had it for a handful of months with no issues. Planning to upgrade to a gbx model though. Take care have a nice day.

Hey brother…95 shadow 600 here again. Question: i watched your video re your stator wires melting at connector. Mine did exact same, i wired them directly just as you did, after two days of commuting where those wires were directly connected they all melted together so i had to do it again. I did not use butt connectors like you did, have you had any further issues with that overheating were those wires are connected? Or did you ever figure out why the connector burned out in the first place? Thanks.
@mcycleshawnАй бұрын
@@chrisberlin1552 these wires carry too much heat and not connected properly they have a lot of resistance and burn up. Best way to solve the issue is to solder and heat shrink for a water proof connection. I haven’t had any issues but I might just have gotten lucky. It is possible your stator is putting out too much power but that seems unlikely because it hasn’t hit the regulator yet.
