I tried this. Got the connection working but there’s some issue with the tape or transfer. The recordings are choppy and the audio doesn’t line up!

Finally I got Google Home to find the new Google mesh point/device that I want to add to the mesh, but after I press 'join', it repeatedly displays "Unable to join the network' which is followed by the name of the Google mesh point. So frustrating!

Thanks- but why -if you have thunderbolt 3 slots- not use a firewire 800 to thunderbolt 3 connector? (and skip the thunderbolt 2 to 3 connection)

Hey man just wondering. I already have a nest system as the only place that gets reception is my shed. The shed then has the modem and sends the signal to one point in my house. Is it possible to add another in the house that can see the other in the house but not the modem in the shed?

I’ve seen a few comments here about this white noise coming from the tweeters… you have replied saying you don’t have it but since you’re using an audio interface with balanced connection, I’m wondering if you could try these speakers with an unbalanced connection with the RCA cables and see if you get this white noise hiss… thank you!

It looks like the guy on the bike either thought you should yield to his turn or he wasn't paying attention/thought you were trying to cut him off. No matter what, he was completely in the wrong. I always have understood that people making a left into a street or parking lot had to give the right-of-way to the person making the right turn first. Obviously, he thinks the rules don't apply to him, and that kind of arrogance (or ignorance) is going to land him either in the ER or the morgue. As a biker, you have zero protection and stand to get the worst of it in a crash. What a nitwit. Other than that, cool cameras and video Landon.

Try to bend the cable so it naturally fits back in, don't snap it tho. Good luck, by far the hardest part of the whole New 2DS XL teardown lol.

Apparently it's now stashed under the settings wheel, or devices -> add a new device -> search for associated app -> connect via Google acc -> then it gets murky (at least on asus where it tries to connect Google assistant). Edit: currently using that asus rt-ax86u in access point (AP) mode wired to one of the Nest eggs setup by G-Fi on install, still looking for solution before making the call and playing "get tossed between customer service of both companies" game.

I tested the parts with another N2DSXL but for me it's the top screen that caused the issue. There seems to be a bit of confusion online/forums so I'll try to explain it here. Someone on a forum said that the popping sound, followed by the device turning off is caused by a 5 part checking system. If one of the parts fail it will make the "popping" sound and turn off. The 5 part checking system seems to be false tho, since you don't need any of the cameras to work, you also don't need the Wi-Fi cable (tested that since I accidentally broke the cable). Oh and please do not follow the tutorial on KZbin made by the iFixIt channel, you will BREAK your shells!!!

@@riccardogroen6297 on single ribbon caused this, you have the one for the analog stick, and the problematic one is nearest. I unplugged this MF but the latch is not having a clip. So it gets loose forever after that.

Wouldn't recommend having a storage pool spanning the NAS and the expansion unit. If the esata connection goes down for any reason with the pool spanning both, there goes your entire array.

@@landonbaileytech drives on the expansion unit be a separate storage pool to drives on the base unit. It's not quite as convenient (although perhaps you could make the large single pool with all the drives in the expansion unit? Not sure, haven't tried that), but much safer.

@@farolasprime I'm not sure I understamd - but if you are asking if you shouldn't span a volume across main unit and expansion unit if you are using only SSDs, still don't do it. The added risk isn't from drive failure but from connection failure. Hope that makes sense.
