I found a 5000 lumen spotlight led bulb on amazon and I am going to grow a regal geranium under it. Maybe those dark red ones. I love those.

Geraniums can be grown from seeds, but they're very slow growing if you choose to go that route. A faster way to grow geraniums would be to take clippings from a geranium plant a propagate them yourself. We don't currently have geranium seed packets for sale, but we do carry many different varieties of geraniums in plant form!

beautiful! Are they also referred to as cineraria or pericallus? I wonder if my plants were labeled incorrectly
@beepbeepdidi89203 жыл бұрын
Yes they are!
@culversgarden3 жыл бұрын
Hi K.C.! Cineraria and Senetti are from the same plant family, so they look very similar. Senetti has a stronger cool weather garden performance and is more durable than traditional Cineraria. Senetti can also be cut back for a fresh flush of flowers due to their unique reblooming ability.

Can you dig up stems with roots and plant them elsewhere ? If so would you trim them to half length ? Thanks
@culversgarden5 жыл бұрын
L O F E N O I A L O F , you can divide a large plant. Cutting back the plant would help lessen the stress of transplanting. Depending on where you live, they are a perennial in huge southern part of the US. If growing as an annual, we don’t recommend dividing the plant, unless you have a greenhouse to overwinter it in.

The new buds are slender and show some color of the bloom while the deadheaded stem tip will be swollen (but, the stem should be taken off way before that point when the flower color fades)

I always stop at Culvers when we come from SE Nebraska to visit our son and family. Love looking, but your prices are a good $15.00 more per container than they are here. I bought my veggie plants in small town Iowa, but buy my potted nursery stock in Nebraska.
@culversgarden6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for stopping in when you are in town! Shipping to Iowa is slightly higher than to Nebraska. Also, several nurseries in Nebraska have enough land to grow their own nursery stock. We also offer a 100% warranty for all trees and shrubs for one year (which could be the same or different than other nurseries).

This is the 3rd video on Alstroemeria care I've seen on Utube in last 5 mins. Every one of them shows how to deadhead, but NOTHING ELSE! CARE in your title means more than deadheading a flower. It means soil, water, sun, shade, food, overwintering, harvesting flowers, propagation. None of these were covered. Call your video - Deadheading Alstroemeria, not CARE!

Hi, I am in Melbourne, Australia. I just planted out the Princess Diana lily - this one: www.plantmark.com.au/alstroemeria-diana-17cm I planted it in semi-shade in a shade garden where it will receive filtered sun. I planted them in semi-rotted home made compost (no food scraps visible) so there is plenty of humus in there to feed the plants and provide drainage. The stems quickly became horizontal when I watered in the plant (there are about seven flower stems). Any tips for caring for this plant in mid-summer? Will it shut down due to the hot weather?

Hi I've always wanted to grow these flowers. you make it look do-able to grow and maintain. I just picked some up last week but haven't transplanted them yet. I want to give them the best care but unsure of the perfect soil to use. my current ground is a layer of rock/dirt and under is a clay loamy soil
@culversgarden7 жыл бұрын
We recommend adding in some peat moss or compost to loosen up the heavy soil. While alstroemeria like to be moist, heavy clay soil should still be amended. Good Luck!
