Gurdjieff also spoke extensively about the human weakness of sugestability. But Gurdjieffians seem to ignore this and talk nonsense about developing an immortal soul. Gurdjieff is laughing in his grave.

Gurdjieff developed these powers (or what the Hindus call "siddhis") during his earlier years. But they're pretty much worthless when dealing with modern consciousness. They belong to another time. As Gurdjieff himself admitted late in his life, his teaching was all wrong because he had not solved the #1 problem of modern man, and that is how modern man blindly follows authorities. No one has solved that problem yet.

Didn’t Crowley come to Gurdjieff for help with his heroin addiction only to be kicked out after a few days for trying to sleep with some of Gurdjieff’s students ?

C.S. Nott is talking rubbish here, how can he judge about Crowley´s Black Magic abilities, did he study and use it for years? His two books are mostly valuable, but sometimes his ignorance shows. He also belittles J.G. Bennett, who was maybe the greatest English philosopher of the 20th century.

I never knew that Crowley and Gurdjieff met. Charlatans or not, both of them are still discussed among the pursuers of occult knowledge. Still not sure if any of their works or practices can be properly applied to improve the human condition. I just hope Gurdjieff didn't give Crowley any driving lessons. ;)

Stop being stupid, just look at the fruit of either and the difference is made clear, Gurdjieff clearly pushes the students to develop higher qualities or The Logistikon as in ancient Greek philosophy, Crowley clearly pushed towards the Epithymetikon , the third part of Plato's soul was called epithymetikon, and this is thought of as the appetitive part, where the higher qualities are to be hollowed out, The man made empy. "no such thing as black and white" your deception is meant to ensnare the ignorant and gullible. Gurdjieff never said to do whatever thou wilt and be happy with that.
