@@ProjectManagementMastery That is very good, What i was looking for thinking of is with a Task list, %complete and Cost - Can you get EV from the dashboard above most of what i get as a WBS these days is in Excel. I would like if possible to get earned value from the Dashboard above or you may have another one that could or would be mor suitable. - PS, I did like your EV video
@ProjectManagementMastery
@ProjectManagementMastery 3 күн бұрын
Yes I think that would be the ultimate to have EV, something to think about. I simplify those task lists usually so by using the % completion you have implied the Earned Value but you would problably need to keep track of time spent for the picture to be complete...

Thanks for he comment! You either duplicate the task, or you add more Resource columns. As we speak Excel does not allow "3D" input.

This is actually a good idea... You would need to remove the Data Validation on those cells. Also the Resource Charts might get a bit messed up. Unless you create a Resource called "Zach and Noah" and keep the Validation. they will show on the chart... But you made me think about other options for multi resources, so thanks for that :-)

thank you for this detailed tutorial. it's a useful learning resource. a quick question: I've been trying to play around with formulas to customize this to my needs, but i'm stuck and i was wondering if you would consider sharing a solution. What i would like to do is have the MONTH as an additional variable. I'm interested in seeing the TO DO's and IN PROGRESS only, but for current month & next month. Or maybe you already have another tutorial including this time dimension? thanks in advance for your help.

@ProjectManagementMastery Ай бұрын
@diananagy4808 This is actually a great idea to reduce clutter on the Board. You Just need to add another column (say X) in the Data Entry that you would set to "Y" if the month of the date is in the current or next month. and then you can just change the Kanban Search criteria to add this as another condition to show the task on the Board like this (AND (D5="Y",X5= "Y") ... Should work!

Cheers! Yes that rings a bell, I think there is another comment on this. THhe latest version has =IF(Weekend_work="N",WORKDAY(J6,C6)-1,J6+C6-1) and the note in the instructions. "Please note that when a task completes a Friday night - and there is no weekend work, the system puts the completion date on a Sunday night. This is to allow the Gantt chart to calculate properly the After Date - as in fact it positions itself the day before the next working day."

Can you link this dashboard or one of the other task activity ones to the project dashboard and then subsequently the program dashboard
@ProjectManagementMastery
@ProjectManagementMastery 3 ай бұрын
That would be nice, but this would give us one of those 2 challenges: either too many tabs or external links which are often / always causing problems. Unless we have the project dashboard and the task list on one tab? In any case food for thoughts, (and while we're at it integrating the risk and issue lists!)

The look of the colored tab is great, but the true power of a task list would be the ability to drag and drop the task from stage to stage and this appears to instead need users to both enter new tasks and change the status on the 'Step 1' white tab instead of where you'd want to stay viewing.

I found this insight particularly valuable, especially the aspect of considering the interviewer's perspective. This is something we often do subconsciously after years of being interviewed but don't explicitly think about. This has reminded me of the importance of tailoring my preparation based on who I believe the interviewer will be. Knowing the interview stage, whether it's an HR screening, a technical interview with my future line manager, or a meeting with the head of programs or country director, usually helps prepare more effectively. Good Stuff!

@agapenilo4375 You ask so nicely it's hard to say no. I think you are referring to this formula? "=COUNTIFS(Task_name,"<>""",Completion,"=0")" In this I check 2 things, first that there is no blank (<>"") in the task column, meaning we have a task in there, and there is another condition is that the task has not started, which translates into Completion% = 0%

You might need to give me an example. You can have different resources performing different tasks but they need to be set in the Project Sheet as per MS project in front of each task. This is a project/task based resource allocation system. You should not change the allocation unless there has been availability changes or more work needs to be done on a task.

@ProjectManagementMastery

In this case you won't be able to use this software, in fact I don't think there is one that would do it. How can a system know on one task managed by 2 resources which resource is allocated how much? The only way you will be able to do this is to split that task in 2: task 1 for resource 1 and the other task 1 for Resource 2.
