bro this guy makes me mad, it used to be the pickaxe for furniture, it used to be the pickaxe for wooden tiles BRO idk about you but we grew up with this shit, it's your versions that are a confusing abomination my fav. version is 1.0.2 btw cause thats most of my childhood* there and yah some new features i will say are nicer and some what easier and i like the new bosses and items, but this core mechanic change is abysmal and still bothers me ever time i play it this change made axes and hammers basicly USELESS, like i could use a hammax which was soo cool and was useful for destroying all trees(remember to replant), furniture, wooden houses and backgrounds, they where OP! now they only break trees... and rotate block states... i can't remember anything else and now their freaking pointless like wtf, it is not worth getting a hammax anymore, the excitement and coolness is dead, ever since 505 Games joined the development it was going down hill until they made cool features on top of this change, then everyone forgot about what they did and got used to it without realizing, they FUCKED IT UP!!! sorry, it just really bothers me that people say the new way is better, and yah the features and updates are good, but the fundamental change on how tools work, like having a pickaxe to destroy furniture and all placeable tiles, is just doesn't make sense why, cause your just ruining the other tools, it's UNBALANCED anyway it's a decent video

There's a lot of mechanics in Old Terraria that kinda deserves to be packaged together as a set of survival mods - stuff like only being able to destroy Ebonstone by purifying it first and the magic mirror using mana makes more lore-sense at the cost of frustrating gameplay.

The night's edge was so underwhelming for so long imo because the parts that made up the sword had unique effects while it dealt like 3 base damage more than the molten greatsword. Like how does it trade a poison effect, fire effect, and high attack speed for slightly increased damage with no other effect
