I’m one of the unlucky ones, who didn’t know about this at the time and paid $700 for one. It’s really only $350 more than they sold for new, and I could’ve easily blown that $350 on 2-3 other pedals that I won’t have to buy now.

Sounds close! The separate pedal has more bass for some reason, but that's a thing you can easily fix with a little EQ adjustment on the amp!

Great pedal with an amazing sound. Though the XLR connector is an output I believe, not input.
Not sure if this is meant genuinely - but I have watched and love those videos. Actually, I’ve implemented most of those concepts in my videos. I had just moved and didn’t have a lot of my gear, but wanted to get this video out asap. Go watch the rest of my channel and lmk how you feel about the lighting!

Marshall and JHS give you the edge of breakup, JHS is best of the 3. Coffee shop one is more like a volume boost , too clean but ok.

Interesting! It sounds like a 70’s Montgomery Wards solid state amp. They had an 8 inch speaker with thin paper and it had a distinct overwhelmed woof sound that I haven’t heard the likes of till now

I don’t believe this new version is technically analog or at least original genuine BBD. It’s some kind of confusing emulation that has the same companding and tonality added in. For all intents and purposes it probably sounds identical or just as great, but I don’t think they are even marketing it as analog, but “dBBD” or “analog style”. The lowercase “d” in dBBD likely meaning digital.
@8-TrackCustomAudio2 ай бұрын
If I remember correctly, the actual Memory Lane Jr. was an emulation as well, and this is a reincarnation of that circuit. The original Memory Lane and Memory Lane 2 were BBD.

Great demo. Thanks for showing the lower gain sounds. This pedal can cover a lot of ground. I have/have had the Sixty8 Deluxe, Seventy4 Deluxe, and now the Eighty7 Deluxe. The Eighty7 Deluxe is my favorite of them all. Independent 3-band EQ for both channels is huge, and I really like the way the EQ controls are voiced on this one. It’s not just for heavy sounds. Really versatile and “amp-like”. I can play an entire show with just this pedal for my dirty sounds. I love it.

Nice demo! I have the JRT version which may have a better overdrive sound, but can get muddy with humbuckers and little control other than a bright cap switch on the 6V6 side of the amp. Having never owned the CCC, I’m not sure which I’d like better.
@waitin4winter4 ай бұрын
When you engage the switch, it kills the signal for a fraction of a second. This is kinda annoying if you’re engaging the pedal in the middle of your playing. I don’t think the original ones did this.

Great demo. I own/have owned the 68, 68 Deluxe, 74, 74 Deluxe, and the 87 Deluxe. They’re all brilliant, but I think the 87 Deluxe is my favorite. It covers a huge gain range, and I love the fact that it’s two identical circuits in a single pedal. No compromises found with a shared EQ like the 74 Deluxe, which I found frustrating.

Just got it. Seems to work p;retty well. Not the strongest compression but it works. Hard to tell it's working since the dumb light is yellow flashing against yellow. Fail. Built like a tank though and no noise so that is a win. I will probably keep it. The EQ option is nice. Gives you that nice Strat quack I like.

@pinoypride3199136 ай бұрын
Oh man, my acoustic board is all torn apart now. But, I used to it a little liberally because I play very dynamically. So, the quiet/arpeggiated/finger picked parts sit better in the mix. I've had a comp, boost, delay, and reverb on my ac board in the past!

I had a Strymon iridium for a few days. Pretty impressed by the sound at first but then noticed the headroom wasn’t too great. Did you have better luck with maybe swapping the IRs ? And or is there anything else in your chain making the Strymon iridium sound useful. ?
@gearfever6 ай бұрын
Iridium has some quirks for sure. But, I'm glad you like this video! Everything is just stock here!
@joshuadillon43966 ай бұрын
I returned it. This was a few years ago. So, maybe my understanding of gain vs headroom were not quite there yet but I understood pretty well. I just didn't even know really anything about IRs so I didn't even know how to load any and still have never downloaded IRs. Ive tried Quad cortex which had a really crappy headphone out sound. I've tried the UA lion recently which it only sounded good if I add another cab emulation after it like the GFI cabzeus. So, I don't know. I definately am old school. I really think that possibly my amp head with a great reactive load might be what works for me. I'll be continuously trying more options.
