These are probably a bit dated now but back in 2003 they were a joy to Island hop with. Super fresh clean interior, fast and quiet (when not seated right next to the engine). Definitely one of the more underrated planes of the era.

Thats a love-hate seat. Great views for fans of the mechanicals but usually stinks from the aft lav. On another note, how long is that flight - like 3 mins longer than the video?

The 12 story bldg, which is now a hotel and can been seen just before the jet leaves the runway, is located on the same spot where the old Atlanta Airport used to be from 1945 to 1980. This hotel has great views of the airfield if you like to watch aviation..

i still dont understand how my brain sees the fanblades spinning clockwise, but the cone spins counterclockwise then they just switch in the blink of an eye

Considering the growl faded away after the thrust reduction I believe this was at or near full power. Otherwise there wouldn't have been this much of a growl. Flaps were also aggressively set for takeoff, as the slats were in the 2nd position. Excellent catch
