I miss those. We moved back home to Ohio a couple years ago and bought saplings to take with us and have yet to see any berries. We think it's too hot here in the summer.

Oh, it’s ok for that reason too! Very few diseases can be passed from birds to people. It’s also ok (legal) to hold them and photography them, just not to keep them!

And so my thought was "perhaps she means that if you keep it, you'll get sick". Or...maybe if i keep it, people will think i killed a bird😯

KZbin only allows these kinds of videos to be 60 seconds so I had to shorten the version we put on our TikTok channel… The law was passed after many birds were hunted to near extinction for the fashion industry. It covers all feathers, birds, nests, etc. The law doesn’t allow for that grey area because we can’t prove that we found the feathers and didn’t kill the bird for them. It’s too bad, they are so lovely! Hope this helps explain it better. Thanks for being here 💚

Glad it was helpful! We live in an area with many winter nights in the 20s and a couple snow storms each year. They do fine. You could also move them to a greenhouse or garage with supplemental lighting if you were concerned.

Yes I do...Just before my 5th birthday I was blessed to stay with an aunt for a few weeks that summer and she introduced me to A FARM! Never experienced one before. She also let me help her can fruits and vegetables and cook meals with all the foods from the garden... eggs... milk... and fruit trees. I was hooked! We lived in the city and I couldn't wait until I grew up and had my own "farm". When my husband and I married (1967) 10 days later we moved onto our 5 acres. Our goal was to have a farm like my mom's parents had before I was born. No chemicals etc. So we did... and I still do alone now. Wonderful life... hard work... so rewarding. Thank you for asking...
