Case with Dragon wouldn't work even if opponent would resolve Krayt Dragon ability first (we assume unit will survive damage), as order of action would be - > Krayt dragon damage -> ready up unit and attack with ambush (as ready up is part of ambush ability).

Han 2 blue is definitely not an aggro deck lol. Its the premier midrange deck in the game. And its Drawback isn't that heavy, thats why its one of the top 3 decks in the game.

I actually think han blue suffers to control more then it wants to admit. Palp has a good matchup already into it. But yes I think if we see a rise in hard control we will see a down shift in han 2 blue.

I was one of the alpha testers. More specifically, I actually flew against a list that ran a big ship with Kraken and seven vultures droids who were all using networked calculations instead of independent calculations. They also all had energy charges. I was on the back foot the whole time and barely managed to tie. Whenever I was in close one would reload an energy shell charge and another would take a calculate. It snowballed at the end, but chewing through the first few was extremely rough and took several turns. All this to say that, if I recall correctly, and y'all are in the Michigan general area, consider hopping just across the border into Indiana if you want to play in person. We're hosting an event using the XWA points in South Bend on Sept. 28.

Im excited for a Maul leader deck! Any cards from the first two sets that work well with Maul leader? I want to put one together fast but never have enough time to do my own research 😂

My recommendation is to look at fifth brother and seventh sister for starters. I also think things with grit will work well with maul. In a month or so we will have a way to early deck for maul as he is one of my fav characters ever. The other thing we looked at is the death loyalist and karastan. Really debating on leaning into blue and going that route with a first light combo. First light lets things with damage on it get raid and then allowing them to have overwhelm with maul seems good.

Well in destiny force push was good on palp but it was not able to be ran in the last season cause it was too old. Lol sorry couldn’t help myself witha destiny reference. I am assuming you mean force throw. And if that is the case I personally don’t run it as normally I am not worried about the one cost discard deal damage. In the early game it feels bad but it is amazing if you don’t get it to the end game when palp is out. I found it was to inconsistent for my 50 cards but if we run into a meta where we get more cheaper force units in villian then I think it could become a thing in the deck.

If you have Echo in play and your opponent plays Scanning Officer, does the effect from Echo activate during the opponents turn as well? Thus making them all targets for SO?

If you are referring to tech then who says each friendly resource gains smuggle then yes your scanning officer hits all the cards. So basically you can just pick the cards and they all have smuggle added and you can get rid of them and exhaust their resources.

@@misterjackpotsbecause I don’t think lines are as clear cut anymore for which is the best. There is a lot more cards. For example maul and Vader play the same purpose but do different things. Sometimes I like to have options for both of them. So I don’t know if I think 51st card is the worst but more of an option. The idea is that we don’t know if the game is only designed to be 50 cards persay. They say multiple times 50 card minimum. So that leaves room to try extra cards to play and see how it goes.

@@PlanningPhase yeah i just respectfully disagree with your assessment. unless we’re talking about playing against mill decks, there will always be a 51st worst card in your 51 card deck. in the specific Vader/Maul example, if you take the preponderance of all the decks, either Vader or Maul is going to be overall better. maybe it’s 51% vs 49%, but that’s our job as deckbuilders to figure it out. not to hedge and in the process make our deck weaker when we draw the suboptimal card

I've been having a lot of fun with this deck. Instead of the no good to me dead I've been using asteroid sancturary to get the shield token as most of the highest buffed units are 3 resources or less. Turn 5 is my favourite too, advanced tie for 2 experience, tarkin effect for another experience then deploy and attack with tarkin for the 4th experience in one turn

The premier budget deck for set 2, though I feel it's not nearly as good as budget sabine mono red was in set 1, that thing could hold its own, this though great, can struggle quite a bit in some match ups.

Yeah we will see if any more budget decks coming up. We are playing around with Kylo and Lando to see if there is any competitiveness there and if we can get a budget version of it.

I agree. That is why I wanted the segment cause I think it inspires people to think through turns and use so much more. Smuggle made it easier for newer players to get into and more of a mind game for legacy players.

cards like scanning officer and DJ make this entire mind game thing kinda cool. Ideally you dont want to exhaust a card with smuggle that you are going to play later in the turn as it can pay for itself. So its all super interesting. I cant wait to see some 4d chess moments in tournaments.
