It feels the real footnote isn't about the religious life but in the context & economics of the time. I understand so many men had died in wars there was a disproportionate number of women but not clear vocations or places for them in society. One needed to be wealthy to enter an official convent at the time so that wasn't an option for everyone interested in that lifestyle. They needed to create a place for themselves to survive. It seems as though they did and did a good job at it because they appeared to be very successful in the industries they entered. That had to ruffle a few feathers. I'd like to hear more about that. I clicked because i wanted to learn more about those things.

This video is propaganda for the man and is far from a true and balanced retelling of his work and controversies. Totally skips and down plays his direct comments on character such as Superman and implies just horror comics. Also miss the later controversy about if he falsified his research findings or not.

Godfrey was impsled on its own sword. This failed as it hot a rib and and was taken out and stabbed again. Due to a lack of bleeding, this was done after he died. He had died due to his neck being broken or strangulation. This was not a suspension injury as the marks would have been higher up. This was not suicide.

She was an inveterate traveler and even visited Paris in her old age and stayed at a hotel across the street from the gutted, fire burnt remains of The Tuileries Palace, most associated with the Bonapartes of all the palaces. When asked if it did not disturb her she replied "No because the empress died in 1870". She also went to an archeological dig in Egypt and sat in a royal chair that had been unearthed from a tomb. She told the workers "I was an empress once too" and got up and walked away.

I was born in Mississippi in 1957 and I have lived in the south most of my life. I have never seen a Klan rally or anyone who said anything good about the Klan. I have never seen any kind of anti Semitic behavior from anyone I knew. There were several Jewish owned businesses in my town and my mom and I use to shop there all the time. My mom always held Jewish people in high regard because she said that they were the "chosen" people . My mom had a charge account at the stores and when she couldn't pay, the man would tell her not to worry about it and pay when she could. There were also several Asian stores and I never saw anyone mistreat any of those people. This myth that the south hated Jews is just that, a myth. My family hated the Klan.

I’ve been living on a property located on a former plantation in Sardis Georgia for 8 years and have cycling routes that go in between adjacent plantations and church’s dating back to early 1800’s and these areas are relatively well preserved remaining agricultural, your research and narratives bring forth a sense of what the state of mind based upon life roles which is pretty much the same today, I’m working on acquiring a better perspective and am factoring in Harris book character types as a starting point as what could be considered indelible in time, I’m spending time at the local library would appreciate anything you consider mandated reading - thank you

The Loyalists did not go to Ontario because Ontario didn't exist. Canada didn't exist. Please check the facts.

The British did not surrender in 1781. The war continued right up to 1783 but granted after Yorktown the British realized that the war with those 13 provinces, France, Spain, the Netherlands was likely not going to end well.

Just how many Loyalists were there? How many Loyalists fled those 13 provinces in rebellion during the civil war? I've seen a wide variety of numbers. I used 100,000 because the USA version would naturally choose a much lower number. Besides who were considered Loyalists?
@johndavidhobson8229

Declaring independence is not the same as achieving independence. If those 13 provinces of British America which were declared "in rebellion" in 1775 actually gained independence why did the civil war continue for another 8 years and require the massive assistance of France, Spain and the Netherlands.
